Manager - Accounting Jobs

We're hiring for an Accounting Manager to join our team! This position is a remote role but preference will be given to hybrid candidates within the locations of the following: Chanhassen, MN, Austell, GA, St. Charles, IL, Grove City, OH, and Breinigsville, PA.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for the Record to Report (i.e. Accounting) functions for a hub or group of plants in the Commercial Platform. Oversees accountants to ensure timely and accurate completion of financial statements and financial information as part of the month end close. Responsible for Record to Report compliance with US GAAP, Internal Controls and corporate guidelines and processes established by RRD. Evaluates and makes appropriate improvements to internal accounting processes ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization. Ensures systems in place for proper information flow and accurate reporting and liaison with the operational teams to ensure data is entered and captured properly for accurate reporting. Drives special projects needed for process improvements and efficiencies and ensures existing processes and reporting are updated for changes in the business and structure.

Position Responsibilities:

• Maintains adequate documentation to support the monthly close process including the use of checklists and approval sign offs
• Meets appropriate deadlines and ensures the accounting records which underlie the financial statements accurately and fairly reflect the transactions of the company
• Investigates and resolves accounting problems for the area of responsibility
• Oversee commission calculations for local sales reps who are not on platform comp plan
• Owns month-end close and reporting of financial results
• Champions the effective operation of strong internal controls
• Prepares journal entries for complex/material accounts; reviews and approves journal entries prepared by others. Analyzes accounts, records, and subsidiary ledgers for accuracy and completeness
• Responsible for tracking/valuing all materials, work in progress, and finished goods at month-end. Performs and documents inventory obsolescence in accordance with RRD policy.
• Supports Finance Manager by communicating issues identified during the monthly close process; assists with investigating unusual items where appropriate
• Prepares or reviews balance sheet reconciliations
• Supports internal and external auditors as requested
• Ensures proper retention, filing, and handling of accounting records
• Implements RRD’s policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP to ensure the safeguarding of assets and accuracy of financial information
• Responsible for managing a team of accountants to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner

• OR demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience. CPA is preferred.
• Excellent technical knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, including inventory (raw materials, WIP, and finished goods), cost accounting, and revenue recognition
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 5-7 years of relevant work experience
• Accounting supervisory experience in a manufacturing profit center environment. Ability to train and develop direct reports
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, Google G-Suites, and other applicable accounting and financial systems. SAP and Essbase experience a plus. Strong Excel skills are required.

The national pay range for this role is $87300- $166500/ year. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location of the hired employee. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
