Senior Logistics Manager- Transportation
Global Distribution and Logistics- Global Operations and Supply Chain
•Location: Open to remote in US for the right candidate, however preference is ability to sit in Minneapolis, MN/Twin Cities Area hybrid in office/remote model (in office 2-3 days a week)

Provide leadership, direction, and execution of the global strategic plan and for Medtronic Supply Chain Logistics and Transportation. Proactively engage with supply chain and business leaders, employees, suppliers, and carriers to achieve world class quality, service, and cost for Transportation programs. Lead team to effectively utilize logistics analytics, standardize work, and drive continuous improvement to achieve global supply department objectives.
A Day in the Life
• Implement Global 3PL Partner Strategy, build and maintain relationships with these partners to ensure quality, service and spend targets are met
•Provide functional and people leadership to transportation team
•Implement and manage Global Transportation KPI, like OTD (On-Time-Delivery), Transportation as a % of COGS (Cost of Goods Sold), Mode and service compliance
•Collaborate across all Medtronic operations to meet business and geography goals in transportation and logistics
•Establish short-term and long-term objectives, timelines, milestones, and budgets for successful transportation programs
•Leads, directs, develop, and review the work of direct reports
•Collaborate with Operation Units, Regions, Customer Service, Sourcing, Quality, Distribution, Sales Operations, Manufacturing, Planning, and Finance to achieve cost, service, quality optimization across the supply chain
•Lead and support development of global transportation analytics and KPIs
•Drive focused collaboration with business groups/units on AOP and forecast
- Bachelors degree required
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience
Nice to Have
•5+ years managing 3PL relationships across multiple regions or countries
•Experience with global transportation or warehousing rate negotiations
•Experience in logistics optimization, supply chain operations/management
•Creative thinker with strong analytical, problem solving and critical reasoning skills
•Working knowledge of national and international dangerous goods regulations
•Experience managing and leading cross-function teams without direct reporting relationships
•Strong interpersonal and influence management skills
•Strong written and oral communications skills
•Discretion with confidential or sensitive information
•Capable of multitasking and working with changing priorities and deadlines
•Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence Global BU, Regional and Site contacts who have transportation responsibilities
•Consistent application of change management, project management leadership, and application of continuous process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and other improvement techniques
•Familiarity with TMS, WMS, SAP distribution and transportation system capabilities
•Experience working in a shared services organization
