A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A TRANSPORTATION MANAGER


As a Transportation Manager, you play a critical role in keeping our fleet of trucks on the road to service our customers in and around the surrounding communities. You oversee the daily operations of the truck fleet. In addition to scheduling all outgoing finished products, you set the schedules and start times for raw materials transfer drivers to ensure a constant material flow to the plant.


You schedule all drivers for all routes, making changes as necessary to ensure route efficiency. In order to ensure that drivers are operating within regulations, you monitor DOT logs and driver timecards. You also help hire, train, and provide safety orientation for new drivers. You maintain current accounts and work to enlist new accounts within your designated area. You take pride in ensuring prompt, efficient, and quality service to all customers in your area!


Minimum Qualifications For a Transportation Manager
  • Prior route delivery driving
  • 2-3 years or more of experience in route-based processes; to include:
  • Authorized to work in the US
  • Supervision of route drivers
  • High school diploma or GED


A CDL holder is preferred but multiple factors will be taken into consideration. Do you have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written? Do you have leadership skills and are highly organized and able to effectively prioritize and delegate multiple tasks? Do you have superior time management skills? Can you maintain composure in difficult situations and adapt to changes? If so, you might just be perfect for this Transportation Manager position!
