Senior Indirect Category Manager

Senior Indirect Category Manager - Remote - USA

Our client, a rapidly growing and industry changing medical device manufacturer is looking for a senior indirect category manager to join their nascent procurement group. This is an excellent opportunity to be responsible for a vast range of indirect categories (IT, Logistics, CAPEX, MRO Professional Services and Marketing to name a few) and be responsible for building an indirect procurement function and recruiting a team of buyers.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements for the assigned category
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and ethical sourcing practices
• Conduct market research and stay up-to-date with industry trends to identify potential opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of procurement activities and financial performance for the assigned category
• Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as necessary
• Identify and evaluate suppliers to ensure they meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements
• Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers
• Participate in strategic planning and budgeting
• Develop and implement procurement strategies for the assigned category in accordance with organisational policies and procedures
• Provide leadership and direction to procurement team members

Qualifications

• 7+ years of procurement experience
• Strong understanding of procurement process and supplier management
• Proficiency in MS Office and procurement software
• At least 3 years of experience working with indirect procurement categories
• Strong leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to develop and implement strategic plans
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
