Design Group is recruiting for a Senior Director Category Management in our Bentonville, AR location. This role will be responsible for providing objective, accurate, and fact-based advice and recommendations to Walmart regarding business methods, assortment, modular development, and/or other related services that promote and maximize Walmart’s goals and objectives for the category. This position reports to the VP of Account Management and Sales.


WHAT WILL I DO IN THIS ROLE?


  • The advisor presents expert, non-biased category insights with objectivity and the highest level of integrity.
  • Accelerate growth of the total category by analyzing complex data collected from a range of different sources and translating it into meaningful opportunities.
  • Provide performance insights, actionable reporting and analysis of Retailer and the overall marketplace, both tracked and untracked, to influence decisions and strategies to grow the category.
  • Domestic travel required, international travel possible.
  • Elevate category growth mindset and Omni Shopper focus.
  • Ability to create reports in Excel from multiple data sources and synthesize insights into fact-based recommendations via PowerPoint presentations, written and verbal communication.
  • Proactively anticipate the business needs of the Buying Team /Omni Merchants and provide recommendations to grow Brick & Mortar and Online sales.
  • Assist with the modular drawing to ensure space optimization. Including but not limited to: Sales Per Linear Foot, space to sales, recommending adjacencies, space increases or decreases.


WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED?


  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in statistical analysis or a category management role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • Advanced level Excel experience (ability to independently develop new Excel models, charts, and graphs as necessary); Access/Power BI experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Space Planning software
  • Proven ability to organize and analyze large sets of data into meaningful and concise reports and propose solutions to maximize sales.
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment with frequently changing priorities and varying deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze statistical data and develop relevant mathematical models.
