Research Farm Technician Jobs

Reporting to the Manager of CFAES Jackson Agricultural Research Station, the Research Farm Technician assists with agricultural operations, including beef cattle and sheep research operations; plants, maintains and harvests forages and pastures; feeds, waters and cares for livestock and assists with animal health care; assists with data and sample collection; weighs feed and livestock; records data and keeps records; operates tractors, mowers, loaders, balers and other agricultural machinery in support of research program; builds and maintains fences and livestock working facilities; may guide research aides and student employees in accomplishing objectives of research projects; assists with maintenance of facilities, grounds and equipment related to research project; assists with field days and tours; other duties as assigned. May be required to work a flexible work schedule according to crop, soil and weather conditions and assist with animal care on weekends in rotation with other staff. Position located at Jackson, Ohio.
