Accountant Jobs

We are searching for an Accountant that can manage the day-to-day accounting process and provide additional support to our Controller.
Accounting functions will include:

• Assist with 3rd party Accountant Review and Issued Financial Statements.
• Verification of vendor and customer setup.
• Fixed Assets Management and Depreciation Calculations.
• Prepare and File multi-state quarterly sales tax reports, and Canadian GST/HST return.
• Moving Average Inventory Calculations and cost review.
• Daily Bank Review and Transfers
• Verification of new customer state registrations and resale certificate validations.
• Assist Customer Service, Sales, Purchasing and others as needed with Customer reconciliations and short payments.
• Month-End journal entry calculations and postings; along with reconciliations Including but not limited to: prepaids, general ledger coding issues, bank reconciliations, and expense accruals.
• Assist with GL coding and determining if items are taxable.
• Customer rebate calculations and review.
• Assist with collections and cash applications.
• Ability to research sales tax and use tax laws; Manufacturing Use Tax Experience a plus
• Assist Controller with keying journal entries, Trial Balance Review (including investing variances), Write-ups, Creation of Balance Sheet, and completion of Income Statement.
• Accounts Payable Backup
• Rolling forward the month-end Journal Entry schedule.

Requirements
Some skills we are looking for:

• Will be naturally inquisitive when something does not appear correct or when additional information is needed to complete a task.
• Is self-assured enough to seek out the information and resources from others that is required to complete assigned work.
• Small to mid-sized manufacturing experience required; need someone that has hands-on knowledge of production orders, WIP, raw materials, bill of materials, and finished goods
• Bachelor of Science in Accounting preferred OR equivalent experience.
• Has the competitive drive to see tasks and projects through to completion.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Is self-reliant and takes full ownership of their areas of responsibility and projects assigned.
• Can learn quickly, assimilate information, and learn from errors so as not to repeat them.
• Strong MS Office knowledge including intermediate to advanced Excel knowledge
• 3+ years accounting experience with at least 2 years managing tasks independently.
