SUMMARY:

Responsible for securing 3rd party vendors for various commodities and/or services to support our global clinical trials and the overall corporate business objectives. You will be generating and implementing sourcing and category management strategies for a specific group or category of products and/or services. You will use the end-to-end procurement/sourcing process and be responsible for the overall management of assigned commodities. Identify and maintain vendor relationships that provide high quality products and services at the best value while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Tasks may include but are not limited to:

• Work with Vendor Management to promote the use of Preferred Providers throughout the organization.
• Attend capabilities presentations for complete understanding of services being sourced.
• Participate in Strategy Meetings as needed.
• Analyze data and market research to determine trends.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders for business needs.
• Development of RF(x) for commodity sourced (if applicable).
• Supports project teams with vendor negotiations and project efficiencies.
• Ensure vendors are compliant with negotiated terms through periodic face to face meetings.
• Support and build Preferred Provider relationships through strategic sourcing processes.
• Spend under management analysis.
• Negotiate pricing, rebates, business terms and conditions, etc.
• Some Tactical Sourcing Required
• Support cross functional Vendor Management team members as needed.
• Tracking of Cost Savings opportunities is essential.
• Develop adhoc analysis and reports as required.
• Develop and implement sourcing and category management strategies for assigned categories.
• Establish and maintain business relationships with selected third-party vendors that would support the Worldwide Clinical Trials organization globally.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
• Customer focused, flexible and able to adapt to stressful situations.
• Knowledge and/or management of clinical services in clinical trials is a plus.
• Great interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to interface appropriately with all levels of the organization across the global footprint.
• Can use initiative and think outside the box.
• An analytical mind with strategic ability
• Ability to negotiation and maintain relationships is a must.
• Work to a high degree of accuracy

REQUIREMENTS:

• Proficient in MS Office are required.
• Requires strong presentation, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Minimum 6 years in a Pharmaceutical /CRO industry required.
• Strong project management and leadership skills.
• 5 years Sourcing/Category management experience or similar role preferred.
• Minimum Travel may be required (up to 10%)
• BA/BS degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Promotion to the next level is not automatic based on years of experience. Personnel are evaluated on proven competency, level of responsibility, and ability to work independently.
