AGT Foods, a division of AGT Food and Ingredients Inc, is seeking a qualified candidate for aPlant Based Sales Representativepromoting dry pea, lentil, faba bean and chickpea-based ingredients to the North American food customers. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, confident individual with an interest in the movement of legume-based ingredients from origin to end-use market and attention to detail of the steps to get it there. You will focus on growing and developing existing clients, as well as generating new business by identifying, implementing, and executing new strategies.
This position may be filled by candidates in the United States and Canada.

This position will report to the North America Ingredient Sales Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Establish strategic relationships with key ingredient buyers, product development, quality, and senior management personnel.
- Additional responsibilities will include updating company’s software programs to track sales activities, order entry, generate forecasting, etc.
- Ability to obtain meetings with potential and existing clients, articulate the company’s value proposition/solution offering, and develop rapport clients and brokers.
- Plan and achieve sales growth with existing and new customers.
- Assist with business development efforts with existing and prospective customer accounts including, but not limited to new product opportunities and strategic initiatives.
- Knowledge of market trends and competitor activity.
- Demonstrate strong entrepreneurial drive and proactively and collaboratively engage with all departments to execute business plans, resolve issues, and deliver solutions that meet or exceed customer needs and drive profitable growth.
Employment Requirements:
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft office products
- Demonstrated sales planning, forecasting, and sales execution experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of industry and customers brands, platforms, and strategies to be able to provide innovative customer-focused ideas
- Must be able to travel 25% or more
- Ability to work independently and remotely in a home office
- Strong communication skills
- Degree in Commerce/Business, Administration or Agriculture
- Minimum 3 years’ experience
- Language skills are a benefit
- Managing and prioritizing a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment
