THE ROLE: The Regional Materials Manager will be responsible for Planning, directing and controlling the materials support of assigned branches and treatment operations. Create the short- and long-term strategy through ongoing collaboration with branch operations, materials leadership and critical stakeholders to utilize systems and policy for planning and procurement of materials, material and information flow and the management and control of inventory in achieving the business objectives. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Lead Lean initiatives utilizing the ERP system to streamline the overall materials management process.
- Maintain list of ACT owned assets at suppliers.
- Develop standard operating procedure (SOP) in accordance with systems
- Assist in developing and executing inventory cycle count processes to assure high inventory accuracies. Lead periodic physical inventory process.
- Establishes and monitors material levels for assigned Services Americas locations.
- Ensure Xylem complies with all Import and Export Compliance Policy and Procedures.
- Maintain good business relationships with suppliers through regular communication. Ensure that critical delivery needs, major contracts, material reject problems and other performance issues are communicated and resolved on a regular basis.
- Monitor Raw Material, WIP and Finished Goods for materials availability, financial tracking and in support of company goals.
- Assist with disposing of E&O materials.
- Additional duties and responsibilities may be required based on organization needs
- Determine needs for new suppliers and plan the development of the same.
- Works with Operations leaders to resolve material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule interruptions.
- Responsible to aide in supplier optimization
- Aide in the roll-out and utilization of inventory management system
- Maintain source system data including but not limited to lead times, preferred supplier, unit cost, etc
- Ensure Xylem contracted suppliers and Xylem preferred methods of procurement are used by all locations purchasing goods and services. Preferred methods are in order of priority: EBuy, P-Card, and Purchase Order.
- Ensure purchase orders are placed efficiently and followed/expedited to ensure on time delivery to meet customer order requirements.
- Act as liaison between branch operations and materials to drive best in class business practices
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science degree
- Commercial Order Management
- Great attention to detail
- Great negotiation skills
- Minimum 10 years of experience in materials planning and procurement
- ERP System Expert
- Good knowledge of electrical components and metal fabrications is a plus
- Experience with Word, Excel and Outlook applications
- P.M or APICS certificate preferred
- General working knowledge of computerized purchasing systems
- VBLSS Greenbelt Certified
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
SALARY:
The estimated salary range for this position is $111,000 to $136,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
