Manager of Materials Fulfillment

OUC - The Reliable One, an industry leader and the second largest municipal utility in Florida committed to serving the community and the environment, is presently seeking a Manager of Materials Fulfillment to join the Financial & Support Services division.

We are looking for a future-oriented transformational logistics leader with proven success in spearheading and driving innovation, change management, and process improvement. This role will provide supervision, leadership, and professional development for the logistics personnel and operations for five different warehouse locations to ensure inventory availability and customer service for Distribution, Transmission, Generation, and Shared Services to support our vision of being an innovative solutions leader and partner of choice.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or Operations Management from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in logistics, strategic sourcing, government procurement, supply chain management, and/or inventory control
  • Project management experience to include leading efforts and setting direction for logistics technology integration is ideal
  • Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to create short-term goals that will sustain a long-term focus on strategic initiatives
  • Minimum three (3) years of formal supervisory/management experience over a team (3 or more people) with experience developing a highly engaged, high-potential team for succession planning is preferred
  • Experience managing business process improvement for forecasting, planning, benchmarking, increasing productivity, and streamlining workflow
  • Must possess a current and valid Florida Driver’s License

Salary Range: $95,215.17 - $119,019.54 (Annually - commensurate with experience)

Job Purpose:

Establish and review operating procedures, training and applications interfaces. Supervise Logistics personnel and operations for five different warehouse locations. Develop forecasting and schedules for all warehouses and customer needs. Ensure inventory availability and customer service for Distribution, Transmission, Generation and Shared Services.
Primary Functions:
  • Manage supplier Alliance/vendor relationships;
  • Manage and lead staff to provide direction of day-to-day activities for multiple Logistics warehouse locations; this includes, but is not limited to, employee coaching, development, and performance evaluation;
  • Develop and administer the department operational and capital budgets; which include overseeing the budget/cost functions; additional responsibilities include creating purchase orders, work orders and paying invoices;
  • Set strategies and goals for the business unit that directly connect to OUC's corporate strategies;
  • Provide leadership to improve inventory accuracy, space utilization and appropriate stocking levels;
  • Develop, modify, and manage operation procedures and standards;
  • Manage, verify, and approve payroll, schedules, budgets, and inventory reports;
  • Communicate performance expectations, support staff professional goals, and brief all related issues, initiatives, and actions, risks or concerns with Leadership;
  • Manage selection and promotion procedures including reviewing applicants and interviewing potential new employees to effectively recommend candidates for open positions within the business unit;
  • Analyze service failure/issues and implement improvements to enhance customer service;
  • Develop, measure, and take action on performance metrics for teams and individuals within the business unit;
  • Responsible for resolving internal/external customer service issues that ensures service satisfaction;
  • Provide leadership in the utilization of E-Pets and EnterpriseOne to monitor project start dates, material commitments, and material releases;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Evaluate and align talent to current and future business needs; mitigate talent risks;
  • Support and maintain an effective work team; foster a culture of respect and continuous learning;

Technical Requirements:

  • Evaluate situations, problem solve and make accurate decisions often times based on conflicting needs;
  • Time sheets;
  • Software Applications (i.e. JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, Tungsten, Insight);
  • Use Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and standard office equipment (telephone, computer, copier, etc.).
  • Develop employee evaluations in a fair and professional manner;

Education/ Certification/ Years of Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or Operations Management from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum three (3) years of formal supervisory/management experience over staff members is preferred; Minimum three (3) years of project management and/or other experience in leading efforts and setting direction for projects is required in the absence of formal supervisory/management experience
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in Logistics.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License
Working Conditions:
This job may occasionally work in outdoor weather conditions and near mechanical moving parts.

Physical Requirements:

This job consists of frequent speaking, hearing, typing, writing, and detailed inspection. This job may require frequent standing, walking, and sitting. This job may occasionally involve bending, stooping, and reaching overhead. Also, this job requires frequent driving of a company vehicle or personal vehicle to all operations locations to successfully complete job duties of this role.
