Position Summary:
This position’s primary responsibility is to manage all Material Resources activities involved in the inventory planning, receipt, distribution, cleaning, storing and managing the replenishment of the supplies and equipment needed to support patient care. This individual provides leadership and direction in establishing operational goals and objectives for the cost centers listed above, in support of MemorialCare and the medical center's strategic plan. The incumbent directs and coordinates services within Material Resources and with other departments and continually assesses and improves the performance of the Material Resources departments under his/her direction. This position also oversees the mailroom and the outsourced linen service.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Working under the direction of MHS Executive Director, Material and Lean Resources and LBMC CFO:
- Responsible for the maintenance and implementation of LBMC Material Resources policies and procedures, control of the planning, receiving, distribution and replenishment of all supplies, equipment and applicable contract services.
- Accountable for the development of a competent and effective team in areas of responsibility
- Provides direction and leadership for the management of all supplies and equipment for the medical center as well as any off -site clinics or ambulatory centers.
- Accountable for the financial management of the entire inventory from receipt to issue and for the controls necessary to maintain accurate reporting and accountability.
Pay Range: $148,740.80-$223,100.80
Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Education
- Additional certification in healthcare materials management and/or Lean preferred.
- Master’s degree in healthcare or business related field preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience
- Expertise with Title 22, CDPH and Joint Commission accreditation standards as they relate to materials management
- A minimum of 7-10 years experience in healthcare materials management.
- Ability to teach, coach, mentor for leader and team development
- Excellent technical, interpersonal, communication and consensus-building skills in an individual who can work with diverse personalities and interact effectively with others.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with all levels of the organization while exhibiting strong interpersonal relationships.
- Demonstrated service-orientation, with sensitivity to campus level/customer needs.
