Primary Function of Position:
The Regional Education Specialist will report directly to the Training Manager for their region. The Regional Education Specialist will deliver da Vinci® technology training and facilitate surgeon-led training for Physicians and OR care teams from a variety of surgical specialties. The Regional Education Specialist will be involved in the development, continuous improvement, and support of Customer Training educational initiatives and programs.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist offsite program manager with prioritization of regional training requests
- Act as the regional expert for all Customer Training programs and resources
- Maintain all capital equipment, including but not limited to, the cleaning and sterilization of instruments and accessories as necessary
- Collaborate with academic program managers and other internal stakeholders to support and scale regional training programs designed to educate and support customers’ development of da Vinci® System technology skills
- Support da Vinci® Surgical System troubleshooting and maintenance at the training center
- Support administrative tasks and projects for the Customer Training leadership teams
- Lead and support Specialized training programs and academic society events. This includes supporting the needs of the surgeon educators and course participants
- Facilitate virtual courses including preparation of educators and training centers to assure technical requirements ensure high quality programs
- Conduct da Vinci® Surgical System training programs for surgical teams at designated training centers and remote centers
- Lead simulation sessions with customers as they prepare for training or to refresh skills prior to cases, as needed
- Contribute to the organization’s quarterly goal achievements
- Support hospital educators in the field by delivering technical training materials and assessing educators’ robotic skills
- Work with the Training team in a creative, dependable, and flexible manner to improve existing training programs
- Capture workflow metrics and surveys to gather data and measure program effectiveness
- Support positive relationships between external training center personnel and ISI management
- Manage training center logistics, inventory, and training calendars as necessary
Qualifications
Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles
- Preferred candidate has current or recent experience in the Customer Trainer role
- Ability to assimilate into new environments and be a highly effective team player
- Support da Vinci® Surgical System troubleshooting and maintenance at the training center
- Superior organizational, time management and prioritization skills and ability to operate independently
- Minimum B.S./B.A. degree preferred with 6+ years relevant experience
- Ability to travel up to 75%
- Demonstrated flexibility
- Creative, dependable, and innovative: focus on continuous improvement
- High capacity to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Clinical and/or operating room exposure preferred
- Demonstrated record / examples of driving results through others with high communication

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target salary ranges are listed.
Base Salary Range Region 1:$114,000 - $164,000
Base Salary Range Region 2: $102,600 - $147,600
Shift: Day
Travel: 75% of the time
Workplace Type: Remote - This job will be remote and/or the job is designed to be performed outside of the office. Employees will come onsite when requested by the leader.
