Rail Coordinator Jobs

A water treatment chemical producer and ne of the largest merchant production facility's of phenol is looking for a Rail coordinator.

Job Responsibilities:

• Tracking commitments and approvals, managing the sequence of activities
• Proactive and clear communication: verbally, in writing, and in business presentations
• Coordinate on-hire, cleaning, and off-hire processes for new leased railcars, and purchase/sale of owned railcars
• Critical thinking, strong work ethic, and an action orientation Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
• Attention to detail, thoroughness, and organization
• Will manage shop interface for all repairs, requalification, and clarifications to spec e.g. gaskets and o-rings
• Vendor relationships
• Tabulate railcar demurrage and participate in order execution, interface with Customer Care for order creation
• Computer proficiency and efficient quantity & quality of work product
• The candidate will initiate mobile repair unit (MRU) callout and coordination, communicating with plant and Customer Care
• Initiative to identify, create, and sustain work processes
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, or business preferred
• For non-standard movements or hot items, provide railcar tracking assistance; work with QTS rail specialist
• Gather critical news, trends, and industry developments for weekly logistics updates Qualifications and Skills:
• Own and administer all data for rail and rail-fleet freight accruals
• Summarize and compile for inclusion in annual Rail Cost Adjustment; communicate drivers to Commercial team
• Create routes in railroad systems, and maintain rate & route master for use in accounting and contract renewals
• Data analysis, Excel proficiency, and general arithmetic / numeracy
• Analyze fleet sizing by business and railcar type, establish and monitor KPI’s for dwell and asset utilization
• Review and approve rail invoices, reviewing backup documentation and coordinating with QTS fleet coordinator
• Previous rail or logistics coordination experience preferred
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
• Coordinate regulatory response, for any notices from the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA)
• Manage railcar utilization, maintenance, and fleet classification and compliance; work with QTS fleet coordinator
