Transportation Support Coordinator – GSA, Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) Southwest Supply Operations Center, Fort Worth, Texas (remote)


Job Types: Full-time, Remote

Salary: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

Caladwich Consulting is seeking a Transportation Support Coordinator to provide Support Services for a variety of contract functions related to the General Administration (GSA), Federal Acquisition Services (FAS), Southwest Supply and Acquisition Center’s (SSAC’s) mission. The specialist will also provide administrative transportation booking, resolving transportation issues with vendors and customers, and entering information into automated systems for the purpose of tracking and processing suspense items.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Respond to and Resolve transportation questions/issues raised by customer agencies and other interested parties (vendors, SDDC, GSA management) in a timely manner.
  • Provide support to transportation monitors by ensuring GSA contractor/vendor provided Transportation Service Orders or GSA Applications for Shipping Instructions and Notice of Availabilities.
  • Successfully process Military Air-Lift Orders by entering information from GSA Form 1611 into the Financial Air Clearance Transportation System, processing shipping instructions letter, and providing to the vendor/shipper in a timely manner.
  • Personnel must possess knowledge in preparation of Bills of Lading, Transportation Control Movement Documents (TCMDs), Export Shipping instructions, and other common shipping documents.
  • Process both FOB destination and FOB origin shipments.
  • Accurately encode information into active RFID tags, as necessary.
  • Accurately maintain transportation log, evenly staff incoming 1611 Forms and VANS applications to all Transporters, evenly staff all incoming monitor scheduling to the transporters, and successfully monitor and oversee on-hand supply of active RFID tags, bolt, and cable seals.
  • Successfully process surface shipments, using GSA Form 1611 or VANS application into the Integrated Booking System.
  • Personnel must possess basic knowledge of the military transportation movement system. Basic data entry and computer skills are necessary
  • Support the SSAC’s Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) by providing a weekly status reports outlining notices of completed acquisitions ready for Contracting Officer approval.
  • Be familiar with and demonstrate knowledge of use of a variety of military and commercial website to include: UPS.Com; Financial and Air Clearance Transportation System FACTS; Defense Distribution Center (DLA distribution); DLA Hazmat Materials Information Resource System (HMIRS); Global Air Transportation Execution System (GATES); and others.


Qualifications / Required Experience:

  • Must possess knowledge in the preparation of Bills of Lading, Transportation Control Movement Documents (TCMDs), Export Shipping instructions, and other shipping documents as required for timely movement of materials IAW MILSTAMP DOD 4500.32R, DOD 4000.25-8-M Military Assistance Program Address Director Systems (MAPAD), and other DOD/GSA traffic regulations and directives.
  • Personnel must possess basic knowledge of the military transportation movement systems.
  • Familiarization with FAR, DFARS, GSAM and other government agencies supplemental procurement regulations.
  • Organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and provide technical acquisition related consultation/guidance regarding the specific requirements outlined by Southwest Supply and Acquisition Center’s (SSAC’s) mission.
  • Skill in communicating effectively and maintaining good working relations with diverse groups.


Other Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5+ yrs. of Transportation Control Movement experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferred.
