Job Description
Overview:
Milton CAT is seeking a Transportation Coordinator to work at our Corporate Headquarters in Milford, MA. This Individual will coordinate thousands of heavy equipment moves within our territory each year. We require a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills.


Pay Rate: Minimum starting salary is $65,000 per year.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage successful relationships with haulers. Identify, assess, and engage with new haulers as needed to keep the market competitive.
  • Coordinate the movement of equipment by reviewing bids and assigning moves to haulers based on several criteria.
  • Ensure equitable awarding of shipments across the pool of identified haulers to maintain good business relationships and fair market competition.
  • Utilize the logistics software to develop and maintain a hauler performance rating system; rate each load and provide feedback on hauler strengths and weaknesses.
  • Responsible for working closely with Milton CAT employees and haulers to resolve any issues.
  • Obtain necessary paperwork to set up new haulers in our logistics and finance systems (W-9, insurance info, etc.)
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.

  • Ability to travel throughout the Milton CAT territory on an as needed basis.
  • Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations.
  • Ability to work during non-business hours to check shipment status if needed and address issues/problems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • 3-5 years strong customer service experience, preferably in heavy equipment industry.
  • Strong intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint; ability to quickly learn new windows-based computer systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced working environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with college or trade school preferred.
  • Ability to work and make decisions with minimum supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, and detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy.
Preferred Skills and Competencies
  • Knowledge of construction equipment
