We currently have openings for an assistant Project Manager in the Vehicle Center of Excellence. This position offers the opportunity to work locally and across the country on a variety of rail vehicle and bus procurements. Candidate will be providing assistance on subcontract preparations, payroll roster updates, engineering order preparations and revisions, setting up projects in STV’s accounting system, running weekly project manager reports, reviewing and facilitating invoices, and entering project documentation in a database.
Responsibilities:
- Provide project support to multiple PM’s and clients throughout the company.
- Work with clients, in submitting contracts and required documents necessary for final authorization and billing of projects.
- Assist and lead in developing client relations with the goal of maintaining a flow of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Work closely with other project managers and group leads within the Vehicle Center of Excellence to manage and coordinate billing in a timely manner.
- Assist Project managers with budget and schedule tasks.
- Work with internal accounting group with monthly project accounting preparations, Invoice reviews and PM reports.
- Work with and provide assistance and guidance to project managers with new project setups across multiple programs and internal departments.
Qualifications:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited information exists.
- Relocation opportunities are available.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a desire to work closely with peers and managers.
- Candidates must hold a four-year bachelor’s degree.
- Willing to undertake a very wide variety of tasks and activities, demonstrate flexibility and have a desire for a wide range of experiences.
- Prior experience in project management, and document control preferred.
- Travel requirements will be domestic and within the state of Massachusetts.
