Supports the production of control umbilicals for Panama City, FL location by ensuring the material used in manufacturing meets Oceaneering’s quality standards. Duties include incoming quality inspection of materials and parts and verify they meet the acceptance criteria of the specifications. Provide quality control and vaildation of product during manufacturing process.
- Support the organization’s drive towards excellence in Quality Tenants, Health and Safety Conformance.
- Confer with engineers, technicians and production personnel as necessary in support of 2nd shift production, generally 3:00-11:30pm shift with the flexibility to rotate for shift coverage or vacation needs.
- Read and interpret drawings; comprehend specifications and tolerances; read dial indicators and digital gages; compare results to specifications and record test data.
- Responsible for performing inspections of material, sub-assemblies, assemblies and finished products to pre-determined acceptance criteria.
- Issue documents, investigates and tracks non-conformance and inspection records in Oceaneering’s Quality Management System software, (currently SmartSolve).
- Review data supplied with materials and parts to acceptance criteria. May include dimensional reports, traceability reports and Certificates of Conformity.
REQUIRED
- Limited travel required to perform inspections at supplier locations. Passport may be required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 and computer skills to support internal Quality Management System.
- Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card) which requires a criminal background check to allow access to work location.
- 2 years experience required in a quality control function, preferrably within a manufacturing environment.
- Work 2nd shift 3pm-11:30pm with potential overtime and flexibility to cover other shifts as needed to support a 24/7 manufacturing facility.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
DESIRED
- Knowledge of and experience with Non-Destructive Testing methodologies.
- Experience working with a supply chain management software, like Peoplesoft or SAP.
- 5 years experience in quality and/or quality control activities within a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret a machinist handbook for nuts and bolts details.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is considered SHOP/OUTDOORS WORK which is characterized as follows.
- Frequently working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment
- Humidity is frequently above 90%.
- Light is intense/glare.
- Occasional exposure to open fire/flames/sparks
- Primarily outdoors during the day and occasionally at night.
- Frequent exposure to airborne dust, fumes, and gases.
