The ideal Post-Packaging QC Specialist will be responsible for the quality control of the post-packaging processes, from Packaging to Distribution. This job requires attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and excellent organizational skills.
Requirements Include:
- Communicating any discrepancies found, including labeling, sealing, and counting, to the Packaging team
- Ensuring all product and batch labels are compliant, accurate, and placed to standard
- Reports to the Trim and Packaging Manager and Head of Cultivation with a weekly recap of issues and resolutions to prevent future occurrences
- Confirming inventory counts from the Packaging department are reported accurately to the Inventory and Distribution teams for proper seed-to-sale inputs; any issues are logged and reported as required
- Following all QC protocols set forth within the department, including cleaning, storage, and green waste standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Overseeing the product receptacle sealing process; confirms all seals meet compliance and tamper-resistant standards
- Partnering with Packaging and Distribution teams to receive, seal, and audit all finished goods; including whole flower and pre-roll products
- Ability to follow precise direction and timelines for all tasks, and remain flexible as business needs evolve
- Supports Packaging department processes, including labeling and filling product receptacles, as business needs require
- Performing weekly blind and cycle inventory audits; tracks and logs all findings in seed-to-sale

Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to and working knowledge of manual and computer-generated batch records and record keeping complying with state regulations.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standard operating procedures, checklists, and protocols.
- Previous experience in Quality Control, supporting cannabis, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or other regulated industry.
Physical and Mental Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position, move and position oneself, communicate, operate and prepare, and place, and position objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally move packages weighing up to 35 lb. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close observation and the ability to adjust focus. The mental and physical requirements described here represent those that must be met by an individual, with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform the essential functions of this position successfully.
Working Environment:
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment can range from low to high. Temperatures in the work environment range from cold and dry to warm and humid, respective to the product processes and plant lifecycle. The work environment requires the use of PPE at all phases, and strict cleaning and cross-contamination protocols. The product and plants are agriculture goods that have the ability to produce odors that may linger, can penetrate clothing, and heighten senses.
