Project Manager - Solar

Reporting to the Director of Engineering - The Project Manager will support the development, acquisition and execution of renewable energy and improvement projects, manage the integration of acquisitions to the client's existing asset portfolio including Solar, Energy Storage, Wind and Hydro in order to meet the Companies’ strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise to the operation and maintenance of power generation equipment at all existing renewable power plants.
• Accountable for the entire project’s scope, team, resources, safety of staff and success or failure of the project.
• Lead, manage, design, carry out and complete capital projects assigned to him, in order to meet operational requirements and ensure long-term infrastructure and equipment reliability.
• Full responsibility for the execution of new projects and mandates, including and not limited to budget and scope of requests for capital expenditures, construction, quality of work, application of KEI contractor management guidelines, all aspects of reporting, contractual interface, stakeholder management, and handover to operations.
• Lead condition and engineering assessment of equipment and facilities in the field
• Select and manage 3rd party Engineering Consultants, EPC’s, contractors and suppliers when required.
• Participate in the implementation of strategic capital projects. Assist in developing and construct renewable energy projects through all phases, from preliminary studies, initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control and close out and handover to operation.

Qualifications

• Understanding/interest in operations would be an asset.
• Ability to navigate permits and both project and equipment specific contracts.
• Possess at least 7-12 years or relevant experience as Project Manager in Renewable Energy (Solar preferred) or Industrial sectors.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Electrical or Civil Engineering preferred.
• Balance of technical commercial and human skill set.
• Construction site experience working on solar projects.
• Able to navigate uncertainty and handles stress well.
• Show proficiency in relevant computer programs, such as spreadsheets, MS Project and databases in the MS Office suite of applications.
• PMP certification will be considered a very strong asset.
