About The Role


Barstool Sports is looking for a General Manager to join the team. The GM will oversee and manage all aspects of brand strategy and execution for their portfolio of brands. The GM will be responsible for developing and executing business strategies, aligning the organization to their strategies, managing a team through cross functional leadership, and ensuring the brands meet their objectives for growth. This person must be a strategic thinker and be able to connect with multiple departments throughout Barstool Sports (from Erika through to editorial) to achieve the KPI goals of each function and team.


The ideal candidate has led teams in fast-paced, constantly changing environments, is a driver of change and adapts well in ambiguous circumstances. This candidate is a strategic leader with good financial acumen and a creative big thinker that can rally teams to execute. Understanding the Social Media landscape, platforms, and trends is essential for success in this role. The ideal candidate will also understand how to monetize brands across multiple revenue streams - ad revenue, direct-to-consumer merchandising, wholesale and licensing.

What You’ll Do:


  • Oversee all operational activities, ensuring efficiencies
  • Own the P&L & playbook for a portfolio of brands, determining the growth plans for each brand
  • Lead annual brand strategy reviews, as well as quarterly planning sessions to ensure the pace of growth for each brand is on track
  • Build strategic plans and align those plans with the senior leadership team;
  • In partnership with functional department leaders set KPIs for each team that are aligned to brand goals and hold teams accountable for results
  • Prioritize and communicate brand initiatives with these teams
  • Manage and motivate a team in a matrixed organization to achieve goals
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including sales, commerce, social, data, marketing, programming, and business development
  • Develop strategies that will drive revenue and audience growth, as well as create audience engagement for the portfolio of brands


What You Have:


  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Exceptional communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven track record of success as a General Manager or in a similar role
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or related field
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Experience in financial management and budgeting
  • Ability to think strategically and develop and implement business plans
  • Strong leadership, and the ability to influence without authority


Salary Range: $175,000-$250,000
