POSITION SUMMARY
The General Manager is a strategic leadership role within the Nuclear Business unit and reports directly to the Chief Operations Officer.The General Manager oversees approximately 100 personnel and the functional areas of Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, Safety, Quality, Compliance, Operations & Engineering.The General Manager creates the operational budgets and is responsible for the growth and profitability of the business unit. In this role you will formulate the overall strategy, manage people and establish policies. To be successful in this role, you should be an entrepreneurial thoughtful leader, strong sales & marketing professional and a confident decision-maker, with excellent critical thinking skills. You will develop your team to be effective in their roles, while ensuring company growth and profitability objectives are obtained. The General Manager provides a culture of operational excellence and uses lean manufacturing principles and effective leadership concepts to be successful. This leader will establish/enhance management systems and processes that support the production of high-quality products that meet or exceed global stakeholders demand, delivery, and service expectations. The General Manager provides unwavering safety compliance, and ensures compliance with 10 NYCRR Part 16 regulatory statutes for ionizing radiation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
·Manages, leads, coaches, and mentors’ direct reports and provides for a team-based environment that facilitates cohesion, profitability, and growth
·Accountable for the profit & loss of the company to the EBITDA level of performance
·Holds the overall responsibility for defining and communicating the vision, mission, strategy and operational and engineering objectives for the organization in support of defined strategic and tactical objectives
·Provides strategic leadership and direction and creates a collaborative environment for the senior staff management team.Develops the leading marketing strategy and tactical execution.
·Ensures the business operates within compliance of all regulatory requirements and works within the spirit of ALARA principles
·Provides leadership and direction as the Emergency Response Commander and ensure OSHA compliance
·Plans, recommends, and implements investments to drive new revenue through product innovation, cost reduction, productivity improvement, capacity, and process controls
·Drives continuous improvement and standard work across all organizational elements using Key Performance Indicators (KPI), and other systems of maintaining measurement and accountability
·Travels on occasion to customer sites and regions as needed to support business initiatives
·Create and implement new strategies for business growth
·Prepare regular reports for upper management
·Performs other duties as may be assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
·Master’s degree in a field of study applicable to position, or approved equivalent work experience
·Minimum 5 years of demonstrated Sales, Marketing, Operational and/or Engineering success in a specialized manufacturing environment
·Proven oral and written communication and proofreading skills required. Must be detail orientated and proficient user of Microsoft Office Products
·Exceptional organizational skills. Ability to prioritize initiatives and actions
·Skilled at developing stakeholder relationships
·Experience developing cross-functional projects and critical thinking
