The Program Officer will manage program operations and specific program components such as curriculum and content creation, event planning, participant support, and alumni activities including programmatic, content, and logistical development and implementation, budgetary oversight, data management, and staff coordination, including management of specific program activities and line supervision of other team members. The Program Officer will also contribute their skills and knowledge to all program activities.

Your Background & Skills
- Demonstrated understanding of global developments.
- Experience monitoring program budgets, preferred.
- Experience planning and managing events, including timelines and agendas, speaker outreach and preparation, media engagement, volunteer recruitment, and on-site staffing, preferred.
- Experience leading virtual learning and exchange activities, and familiarity with learning management platforms, preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft office products, especially Excel.
- Proven organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, including the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced office environment.
- Experience with Department of State or other USG grants and contracts.
- Able to work independently and as a team member with consistent ability to take initiative, meet deadlines, and be flexible.
- Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
- Minimum of two years supporting staff or similar experience preferred.
- International work or study experience preferred.
- Experience with procurement procedures and sub-award management, preferred.
- You must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
- Demonstrate ability to plan strategically and creatively to meet specified objectives with strong ability to anticipate challenges and generate solutions.
- Skills in or interest in developing capacity for related platforms including Canvas, Salesforce, Mailchimp, Submittable, or similar.
- Experience in coaching, advising, or other relevant leadership development work with young professionals, preferred.
- Professionalism in written correspondence and report writing, excellent oral presentation and facilitation skills.
- Demonstrate excellent writing and document proofing skills, with experience documenting program impact using data.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Availability for potential domestic and international travel.
- 3+ years of relevant experience implementing international education or leadership programs and demonstrating relevant progressive experience with a focus on exchange or alumni programming and/or professional training/development programs.

Your Daily Tasks
- Represent IREX and Leadership Practice interests both within and outside of IREX.
- Serve as content and programmatic liaison for partners and event speakers and panelists.
- Develop relationships with partners, work to resolve any conflicts, communicate their interests and needs back to program leadership and integrating into program plans where appropriate.
- Other support duties as needed.
- Develop a work plan to meet program goals and mobilize the team around that plan, monitoring for success along the way.
- Liaison with funders upon request and assisting with new business development efforts as assigned.
- Provide updates and story leads to the Communications team for impact reports and distribution.
- Support program leadership in all aspects of program implementation to ensure timely, accurate, and thoughtful completion of deliverables.
- Mentor junior team members.
- Develop processes for the planning and implementation of activities.
- Provide progress updates to program leadership and donor as needed.
- Manage partner and vendor procurement process, including issuing Requests for Proposals and managing subawards.
- Collaborate closely with project managers to support program development and delivery.
- Provide written input for complex documents, including program reports and evaluations.
