We are seeking a Principal Scientist CADD and recognized scientific leader to join our Computer-Aided Drug Design (CADD) team to advance the discovery of new therapeutic candidates using advances in physics-based, machine learning & data science. This position is based out of our Boston R&D Hub in Cambridge, MA and is expected to collaborate effectively across our research sites in Belgium & the UK.


As a Principal Scientist CADD , you will have the following responsibilities:


  • Independently design and execute computational experiments in a timely manner to enable the progression of therapeutic projects with a special focus on targeted protein degraders.
  • Build a culture of data-driven decision making through the judicious application of recent advances in property predictions & generative molecular design methods.
  • Create effective working relationships & interface across multiple internal disciplines – IT, DMPK, Safety, Chemistry & Data Sciences and beyond via influencing and networking.
  • Champions effective optimization of drug discovery processes through application of physics-based approaches, data-driven predictive methods and AI-based design methodologies. Effectively solicits input and feedback and drives innovation.
  • Contribute to CADD technology acquisition, development, implementation and applications to pipeline projects through effective project management and cross-functional collaboration.


Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education , experience , and skills :


  • Demonstrates strategic thinking for project delivery, identification and implementation of the next disruptive technology in order to stay at the forefront of drug discovery.
  • Proven scientific leadership and excellent communication skills. Acts as an ambassador for CADD by providing scientific expertise / leadership at cross-disciplinary meetings and departmental meetings.
  • Proven track record of accelerating drug discovery through application of physics-based approaches, machine learning and data analytics/science.
  • PhD in Chemistry, Computational Chemistry, Molecular Modeling or a related field is required with a good publication/patent track record.
  • 12+ years of drug discovery experience, working across multiple therapeutic areas including neuroscience, immunology therapeutic including project leadership roles.
  • Excellent knowledge in applying principles of medicinal chemistry including the design of TPDs toward drug discovery.


Official Salary Range/Principal Scientist CADD: $147,960 to $172,620


Official Salary Range/Senior Principal Scientist CADD: $182,160 to $212,520
