Drug Discovery Scientist Jobs

Knowledge of in vivo pharmacology principles, drug metabolism and in vivo dosing and sampling skills

Demonstrated understanding and experience in performing pharmacological and mechanistic studies in in-vivo models of Retinal Diseases, including all pertinent ex-vivo analyses.

Expertise with integrated physiological assessments in the eye, including ocular dosing and dissection techniques. Experience in ocular imaging is a plus

Demonstrates good oral, written, and interpersonal skills and is a strong collaborator and team player.

Protocol development and approval in partnership with IVS and IACUC. Responsible for validity, reproducibility, interpretation, documentation.

Works under limited supervision with a high level of autonomy.

Hands-on laboratory experience in carrying out on-DNA synthesis and methodology development.

Experience analyzing and purifying DNA-conjugates using common analytical tools (LCMS/HPLC).

Experience working in the drug discovery field – drug design, synthesis, and SAR based hit-to-lead optimization.

Postdoctoral or industrial work experience in the DEL field.

Experience working in the PROTAC-based drug discovery programs.

Experience working with high-throughput analytical and purification systems relevant to DEL-applications.

Minimum 6+ years’ experience in laboratory operations or laboratory management in biotech/pharmaceutical setting highly desirable.

Interfaces with Space Planning, building facilities, and asset management team on issues related to the lab

Coordinates with asset management, space planning, and operations on lab equipment upkeep, maintenance, and replacement.

Masters in scientific- of management-related disciplines is preferred.

Manages, reports, and provide insights into best practices and utilization of ODDU space and resources

Manages lab space allocation for new and existing scientists (coordinating with operations, EHS, and space planning)

Greet guests in Discovery area after sales presentations and explain that they will conduct a survey of guests experience.

Must have Timeshare Sales Experience

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

Assist with the entire e-Discovery process, from ingestion, production of e-Discovery materials, and through archiving.

CMC development experience in protein formulation, drug delivery, or analytical functions is preferred

Execute formulation composition and drug product process development studies for sterile liquids, lyophilized, and pre-filled dosage forms

Manufacture drug product formulation batches for evaluating formulation stability and/or to support animal studies

Continuously develops more in-depth knowledge of UCB's drug discovery process through reading, conferences and seminars

Experience with culturing a broad variety of mammalian cells; proficiency with maintenance and differentiation of iPSCs is preferred

Experience training junior researchers is a plus (CoOps, Interns)

Participate in Drug Product teams responsible for Drug Product formulation and process development for pipeline and lifecycle management projects

Experience in clinical or commercial Drug Product (or related) GMP technology transfer and validation would be a plus.

Experience working in matrix project teams with members from peer groups, CMC teams, R&D, CMOs and CROs.

Knowledge of GMP and GLP compliance

Excellent knowledge in applying principles of medicinal chemistry including the design of TPDs toward drug discovery.

PhD in Chemistry, Computational Chemistry, Molecular Modeling or a related field is required with a good publication/patent track record.

Proven track record of accelerating drug discovery through application of physics-based approaches, machine learning and data analytics/science.
