Job Overview
We are looking for a highly capable Payroll Accountanting Administrative Assistant to manage our payroll system, maintaining financial records, handling insurance policies and general office administrative duties. In this role you will include ensuring accurate salary payments, calculating overtime earnings, and updating employee hiring or termination information on the payroll system. To ensure success as a payroll accountant, you should demonstrate knowledge of applicable tax laws and ideally have experience in a similar role.The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong analytical and mathematical, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. Also, must enjoy working within a small, entrepreneurial environment that is mission-driven, results-driven and community oriented. And other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements
  • The candidate must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, and various accounting software.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Managing Financial Transactions: Recording and categorizing day-to-day financial transactions, such as accounts payable (bills, invoices), accounts receivable (payments, invoices), and general journal entries, using accounting software.
  • Preparing financial reports by collecting and summarizing accounting for information
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions
  • Reconciling bank accounts, credit card accounts, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies or errors.
  • Processing payroll reports
  • Manage payroll system, maintaining financial records, handling insurance policies and general office administrative duties.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Communicate with clients regarding financial information
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll accounting software, systems, and procedures.
  • Competency and technical skill sets include (but are not limited to) strong knowledge of accounting principles and standard accounting processes for recording a company's business transactions into a general ledger, account reconciliations and work paper preparation, prepare and post journal entries and ability to adapt work as required by level of engagement.
  • Assisting in financial activities such as running payroll and generating invoices
  • Record-keeping: Maintaining organized and up-to-date financial records, including invoices, receipts, and other financial documents, and ensuring compliance with record-keeping requirements.
  • Processing Sales Tax
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and standards
  • 3 years experience Verifiable expertise with Quickbooks
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements
  • 3 years of bookkeeping experience
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
