Job Description
Job Summary


The Accounting Clerk is responsible for the support of the accounting operations. Primary duty is the processing of monies owed to the organization, which entails following up with partners/vendors, daily data entry, and an understanding of the chart of accounts for the support of accounting operations.


Primary Functions


  • Process and keep a record of accounts receivables for grants, overpayments, etc.
  • Enter journal entries.
  • Communication with vendors and/or employees regarding any discrepancies.
  • Process tuition reimbursement and Continuing Medical Education (CME) paperwork and maintain balances.
  • Process incoming mail on a daily basis.
  • Secure the necessary approvals for invoices.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Scan documents.


Education And Experience


Associate's Degree in Accounting and at least 1 year of experience in accounting.


Knowledge And Skills


  • Knowledge of general ledger coding.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
  • Good typing skills.
  • Ability to communicate in both verbal and written form.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications.
  • Good organizational skills.


RELATIONSHIP REPORTING


  • Reports to the Accounting Manager.


Physical Requirements


  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions.
