Job Description
JOB TITLE: Operations Specialist


REPORTS TO: COO


JOB TYPE: Full Time, exempt


As the Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the COO and Field Managers on key operational projects. versee and create programs, implement changes and enhancements in order to properly assist field staff and overall operational standards. Enhance field operations through researching topics and recognizing weaknesses and implementing change for improvement. Share best practices across all stores.


Essential Job Functions


  • Maintain organization and inventory of warehouse. Including; SunLife Merchandise orders, fulfilling online orders and general housekeeping
  • Maintain strong understanding of all company policies and procedures
  • Conduct QualCon Evaluations monthly for all assigned locations
  • Maintain vendor information, pricing, ordering guides, etc.
  • Assist in research of products as needed
  • Main point of contact for vendors. Larger scale issues should be escalated to COO
  • Update materials as needed. Conduct relevant industry research, as well as research with internal stakeholders to determine best practices
  • Maintain/ update POS system and other operational software/ files as needed
  • Excellent communicator
  • Maintain programs and tools within the operations department which are designed to provide operational routines, processes or structure to the field staff and enhance operations
  • Other duties that may be assigned to help company meet goals

  • Should have an awareness of each functional department initiatives
  • Work closely with COO and District Manager on operational changes, updates, and maintenance and partner with District Manager to ensure store-level management is communicated with effectively
  • Special Projects as assigned in addition to supporting new projects: as new programs, products, etc are introduced to system
  • Assist Headquarters by answering questions and concerns including, but not limited to: guest emails, monthly evaluation visits, operational standards, and specific programs being conducted in the field.
  • Manage new vendor accounts
  • Assist in roll outs to the Field
  • Passion for SunLife Organics brand and enthusiasm for learning more about SunLife Organics products and nutrition
  • Roll out of new initiatives


Qualifications


  • High School Diploma and/or 2 plus years operations experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred experience in restaurant supply chain, inventory and food safety


Supervisory Responsibility


This position has no direct supervision.


Essential Work & Physical Requirements


  • Must be able to spend a minimum of 90% of working time standing.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, high energy, and physically demanding environment.
  • Other duties that may be assigned to help company meet goals.
  • Required to use company tools and follow company practices for fulfilling all managerial tasks (i.e. Order Guides, Inventory Files, Payroll Worksheets, etc).
  • Market knowledge of your store location and surrounding cities.
  • Manager Food Handler Card.
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Minors required to provide work permit.
  • Working knowledge of restaurant POS systems.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • The ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Adaptability and a desire to learn.
  • Strong computer skills; including Gmail, Google Drive, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word
  • Available to work a minimum of 40 hours/week AND a minimum of 6 days/week.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills.
  • Comfortable working occasionally in walk-in coolers and freezers.
  • Able to work ten hour-plus shifts, with extensive standing/walking.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong guest reconciliation and relations.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with our guests.
  • Safety and sanitation fundamentals
  • Have the ability to walk, bend, kneel, handle, reach with arms and hands, squat, crawl, climb, stoop, and other related physical activities.
  • Knowledge of standard business correspondence formats.
  • Must be dependable, reliable and motivated.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Reliable means of transportation at all times.
  • Must possess hearing, visual and sensory abilities to observe and detect emergency situations; also to distinguish product, taste, texture, temperature and presentation and preparation.
