Our Mission

Black in Mayberry is a non-profit 501(c) organization primarily focused on addressing the systemic and institutional racism that robs, burdens and disrupts the lives of Black people in the United States of America. Through the application of art and education we strive for political, social, economic and legal change.

Black in Mayberry directly addresses racial inequality, social justice and human rights in the United States. Our work elevates perspectives on race, uplifts the Black community, and dismantles racist precepts.

We believe that art is a powerful tool for encouraging discourse, educating minds and changing hearts. Through creative collaborations with artists and activists we intend to expose, discuss, evaluate current systems and doctrines that uphold racism whether direct or indirect.

About the Role:

Streamline Success: We are looking for a self-motivated and organized individual to join our administration team and provide essential support for the growth and development of Black In Mayberry. As an Administrative Assistant, you will work closely with our Executive Director to streamline the administrative processes, coordinate volunteer efforts, and ensure the smooth functioning of our organization.

Some example duties may be:

• Make phone calls
• Research potential donors, partners, and other projects
• Send emails to our team, supporters, current donors and potential donors
• Create meeting agenda and take minutes during team meetings

This experience will allow you to witness firsthand how strategic decision-making and cohesive coordination can drive the transformative growth of a nonprofit. By closely supporting the Executive Director, you will gain valuable insights into the intricacies of nonprofit management and have a firsthand role in shaping our organization's trajectory.
