Job Purpose:

The Volunteer Product Manager with Machine Learning experience will work with the United States of Africa team to define, develop, and manage a portfolio of products that align with the organization's mission of promoting unity, peace, and economic development in Africa. The volunteer will be responsible for applying Machine Learning techniques to improve product features, optimize product performance, and enhance user experience. In addition to traditional product management responsibilities, the volunteer will work closely with the Machine Learning team to ensure that ML models are accurately trained, validated, and integrated into the product development process.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct market research to identify opportunities and gaps in the United States of Africa product portfolio

• Gather customer feedback and user requirements to inform product development

• Develop product roadmaps and prioritize product features based on user needs, market trends, and organizational goals

• Apply Machine Learning techniques to improve product features, optimize product performance, and enhance user experience

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, and QA testers, to ensure timely and successful product delivery

• Work closely with the Machine Learning team to ensure that ML models are accurately trained, validated, and integrated into the product development process

• Monitor and analyze product metrics, such as usage and customer feedback, to inform product improvements and feature updates

• Manage the product development lifecycle from ideation to launch

• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to the organization's products

• Participate in team meetings, provide updates on product development progress, and contribute to the organization's overall strategy

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field

• At least 4 years of experience in product management, with a focus on applying Machine Learning techniques to product development

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Machine Learning engineers

• Demonstrated ability to manage the product development lifecycle from ideation to launch

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and product management tools such as JIRA, Trello, or Asana

• Passion for the mission of promoting unity, peace, and economic development in Africa
