MORI Associates is at the forefront of delivering sustained, efficient, and effective IT services and infrastructure to NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. As a Network Field Technician, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the foundational IT infrastructure and systems. Reporting to the IT Operations Services Division, your contributions will directly impact the success of our client's critical operations.
Responsibilities that will fuel your passion:
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and monitor a diverse range of network equipment, including Cisco and Juniper switches, routers, UPS systems, and structured cable systems (fiber and copper patch panels).
Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve switching, routing, and wireless issues, ensuring seamless network performance.
Provide hands-on support for the activation and maintenance of Campus and Data Centers.
Collaborate with clients and service providers to thoroughly test and ensure the functionality of services until customer satisfaction is achieved.
Be available for after-hours and weekend work as needed by JPL, contributing to hardware upgrades, software enhancements, cable replacements, and other critical tasks.
Ensure network reliability, customer satisfaction, and the attainment of organizational goals.
Lead special projects and initiatives as assigned, further honing your expertise and making an impact.
Thrive in a fast-paced environment, successfully managing multiple tasks, stakeholders, and challenges concurrently.
Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of the OSI reference model, protocols, subnetting, switching, and Layer 1/Layer 2 technologies.
Troubleshoot VOIP-related issues, guaranteeing seamless communication across the network.
Create port channels and configure ports based on Data Center Customers' requirements.
Possess a basic understanding of VPNs, firewalls, and wireless technologies, enhancing network security and connectivity.
To seize this exciting opportunity, you should possess:
High School diploma with 3 years of related experience. An Associates degree with 1 year of related experience will also be considered.
Cisco CCNA Certification or Juniper JNCIA-Junos certification is preferred, showcasing your commitment to networking excellence.
2+ years of experience in basic switch and router configuration and troubleshooting, establishing yourself as a dependable expert.
Proficiency in Network Performance Tuning, LAN Knowledge, and basic VPN connectivity.
Problem-solving skills that make you a trusted resource, combined with the ability to multitask and maintain a focus on quality.
Technical understanding and a knack for quickly grasping new concepts, ensuring you're always ahead of the curve.
Desired knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Windows native shell, Visual Basic, JavaScript, or Perl, empowering you to automate tasks and elevate efficiency.

The anticipated salary range for this job is: $35-45/hour
