Job Description

Base Compensation Range: $120,000 - $175,000
Total Compensation Range with Commission: $190,000 - $270,000

BluSky provides commercial, industrial, governmental, residential, and multifamily restoration, renovation, environmental, and roofing services across the United States and abroad. With an emphasis on large projects, we don’t build things; we restore and rebuild them. Our engaged employees bring experience and teamwork to anyone who owns or manages the property, provides property insurance, or manages property insurance claims.

The National Project Director is responsible for selling and managing large and/or complex new business opportunities through leads and referrals generated by personal business development activities and from other BluSky sales team members. The National Project Director markets to commercial property owners, managers, and commercial insurance adjusters and brokers to receive referral relationships for restoration sales in addition to collaborating and selling with other members of the BluSky sales team.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales

  • Generate, manage, and close sales leads generated from the company and personal referral sources.
  • Negotiate and execute contracts on behalf of the company.
  • Participates in industry functions and national trade shows as appropriate.
  • Achieve profit margins in line with company goals.
  • Meet or exceed sales and profitability goals.

Estimating

  • Work closely with the inside estimating department on large selling opportunities.
  • Inspect and determine the appropriate scope of repairs.
  • Generate and present complete and professional bid proposals and time and material billing packages.
  • Prepare estimates or Rough Order of Magnitude (MODs) promptly and accurately.
  • Train and assist others on the team as needed.

Project Coordination

  • Obtain and submit subcontractor bids as needed.
  • Provide all project information to the Project Manager and Project Accountant, including the budget, completion date, and all other relevant information.
  • Ability to justify job costs before transitioning the project to a Project Manager.
  • Mentor local Project Directors and assist with large and/or remote projects.
  • Ensure the production team understands the scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Obtain all signed change orders for all changes to the project, as required.
  • Ensure weekly communication commitments are kept.
  • Work closely with the Account Collections team to ensure timely invoicing and collections.
  • Foster close working relationships with subcontractors and vendor partners.
  • Act as a positive liaison between BluSky, the customer, and the Project Manager. Check in with all clients weekly once the project has been assigned to a Project Manager.
National & Regional Catastrophe Response
  • Must be able to respond to catastrophic events throughout the United States regularly

  • Ability to build inter-company relationships and trust with RVPS, Vice Presidents, RSDs, Project Directors, Business Development Managers, and others throughout the organization.

  • Estimating proficiency and bid proposal package experience
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to influence the sales process to generate sales and leads

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Intermediate-level Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience utilizing Xactimate software and Time and Material methodologies preferred.
  • Experience with social media platforms such as LinkedIn preferred.
  • Must be able to attend Business Development networking functions, sometimes after hours.
  • 10+ years of recent marketing/business development and sales experience in the restoration industry with a proven track record of sales growth is preferred.
  • Must be able to travel up to 70% plus in response to both emergency and non-emergency losses across the nation.
  • Extensive large loss and catastrophe experience preferred.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.

TRAVEL:

  • 70% plus travel within the United States and abroad.

COMPENSATION:

This position offers a competitive base salary plus sales commission and a profit-sharing plan known as Ownership Thinking. This position also includes a sales incentive bonus that rewards personal performance.
