Title: Microsoft Consultant (Senior level role)
Client: Established Managed Service Provider Company
Position Type: Direct Placement
Location: 100% REMOTE position in the United States
(Prefer applicants in locations east of the Mississippi river. If applicants are local to Columbus, OH area, they may need to go into the office location there for meetings while working remotely.
What we are looking for in a Microsoft Consultant:
You are highly motivated and passionate about Microsoft Technology Solutions and have spent the last 3 to 5 years primarily focused on Directory Service (AD) and Messaging (Exchange/Exchange Online) solutions, including build, configure, migrate, and optimize.
· You have a passion for technology, both in your daily work life, and at home.
· You are interested in "lifelong learning”, both to go deeper with your current skills, and to add new ones.
· You have honed your skills with other Solution Providers, Internal IT Organizations, and/or OEM Software and Cloud Solution Providers and have experience in customer-facing roles in the delivery of complex, multi-faceted projects.
· You want to be the "go-to resource” for our client's customers, Sales Team, and your technical peers. Whether you call it a "trusted advisor, "subject matter expert, or "point of escalation”, you want to be that person.
· You are ready for "what's next, whether that's the cloud, hybrid solutions, or something that hasn't been labeled yet, you'll be ready.
· You are comfortable developing relationships with your customer technical and management contacts.
Required skills:
Expert-level skills with:
- Exchange Server (2016, 2013, and 2010)
- Active Directory
- Azure AD and Azure AD Connect
- Windows Server (2019, 2016, and 2012)
- Services such as DNS, DHCP, PKI, RDS, ADFS, etc.
- Office/Microsoft 365, specifically Exchange Online and Exchange Hybrid Server deployments
Pro- to Expert-level skills with:
- Hyper-V
- Windows Desktop (10, 8, and 7)
- Office/Microsoft 365, specifically OneDrive and cross-tenant migrations
- PowerShell scripting
Experience leading migration projects, including Active Directory and Exchange/O365, with various sized environments, from Medium (500-1,000 seats) to Enterprise (15,000+ seats).
Ability to incorporate Data Protection, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, and Security into solution designs.
General Infrastructure (Servers and Storage) experience to support solution implementations.
General Networking (Connectivity and Security) experience to support solution implementations.
3+ years of success in consulting complex, technical projects, including design and planning, implementation and deployment, and support.
Azure integration experience
Optional skills:
- Project experience with Windows and Exchange Server versions.
- Office/Microsoft 365 skills with the rest of the suite beyond Exchange Online, such as Skype for Business and Team, optimally with VoIP integration.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
As a Senior Consultant, you will deliver innovative solutions for clients. You will:
· Work on strategic and tactical projects focusing on Microsoft technologies across industry verticals.
· Perform Design and Planning projects including data gathering, workshops, creating project documents, and presenting findings and designs.
· Perform Implementation and Deployment projects including build, testing, migration, transfer of knowledge, and support.
· Perform Assessment projects for health check, remediation, and optimization.
· Develop rapport with client’s customers and aspire to be their Trusted Advisor. For solutions in your area of subject matter expertise, you are their first call, before they implement anything new. Customers look to you for insight based on your wealth of experience and knowledge of best practices.
· Continue to develop and mature your skills with M365, Active Directory, and other complementary technologies.
· Attain certifications for personal development and our client's partnership requirements.
· Collaborate with project teams comprised of individuals with diverse skill sets.
· Ensure solutions meet or exceed customer requirements for performance, security, scalability, maintainability, and reliability.
· Work with our client's sales and pre-sales teams as a contributor and subject matter expert in project scoping.
· Some of the work this resource will be doing is day to day technical work as a Microsoft Engineer for various customers and some of the times they're architecting a solution.
Remarks:
Will have 3-4 interviews
Salary is $130K - $135K+/year with a 15% annual bonus based on how the practice does.
The client wants somebody who has the technical chops, the ability to architect solutions and has great customer support skills.
