Marketing Content, Communications & Events Lead - Social Impact & PlayStation Career Pathways - Contract

Role Summary
We're looking for a Marketing Content, Communications and Events expert to drive and execute our overall marketing and communications strategy for our social impact efforts, focusing on social justice and PlayStation Career Pathways program. The overall mission of our social impact focuses on diversifying the gaming industry by attracting and building talent from underrepresented communities. You will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that promote our social impact efforts across the company and gaming community. You will be an integral part of the team that drives the success of our overall impact, as well as to the PlayStation brand.
This role is a 12-month contract with potential for full-time conversion and reports to the Head of Social Impact.
Duties And Responsibilities
Content Marketing
  • Execute on a continuous pipeline of digital content across various channels, including web and blog content, case studies and other compelling assets that can continuously build awareness and illustrate our efforts and impact.
  • Institute and maintain a content calendar and manage organization of our content assets
  • Build, lead, and execute PlayStation’s Social Impact and PlayStation Career Pathways content marketing strategy, with an emphasis on building awareness and relevance of the programming and our ongoing commitment to social justice.
  • Ensuring our Social Impact and PlayStation Career Pathways content is ever-improving and high-engaging. This includes measuring, evaluating and revising strategies, tactics and processes to continuously improve overall program effectiveness.
  • Partner with stakeholders around the business to develop written, video, audio, and experiential content that aligns with target personas and marketing objectives, including corporate messaging, campaign materials, product content, and thought leadership
  • Provide strategic communications support to internal and external audiences on messaging and positioning; influence stakeholders as needed to ensure communications are compelling, clear, and aligned with our desired messages and tone.
  • Manages, implements and/or oversees key activities related to program and campaign launches and other social media activities, working independently and with our marketing and internal and corporate communications teams and agencies.
  • Manage and brief both internal and external agencies, designers and writers to align with PlayStation’s voice to ensure our storytelling and content matches our overall company brand – ensuring a consistent experience for all audiences
  • Identify and prioritize content opportunities, pulling from internal and external sources or initiatives; creatively figure out ways of leveraging existing content across programs or objectives
Internal & External Communications
  • Develop leadership and firm-wide communications including executive management communications, agency wide town hall meetings and virtual employee meetings. Draft key messages and ensure timely and consistent communications to employees on current news and agency priorities
  • Deliver strategic, engaging, and persuasive communications – shareable stories – to effectively articulate ideas to our internal employee audience across the SIE and gaming industry ecosystem. Continue to create new ways to share information and drive engagement with an increased emphasis on visual and interactive storytelling
  • Work with Talent, Organization Development and Learning & Development functions on communications to provide leaders with the skills they need to drive dialogue that builds awareness across SIE
Event Planning & Management
  • Plan and execute PlayStation’s social impact presence at industry events
  • Lead with ideation for employee and external facing creative strategies and custom activations
  • Ensure run-of-show execution and a best-in-class experience for PlayStation Career Pathways program event participants during live and virtual events
  • Drive creative development of event experiences that reinforce our brand and value proposition, inclusive of concept development, event narrative, content profile, and target audience
  • Coordinate with communications and marketing team to develop and design, event content, branded event collateral, invitations, environment and other marketing materials
Requirements
  • Able to manage the gamut of internal and corporate communications from start to finish, handle and incorporate feedback and be timely
  • Excellent writing, cross-functional collaboration, and influencing skills
  • Extremely strong writing and editing skills, with ability to write effective external communications materials, including press releases, key messages, video scripts, bylines and blog posts, proficient in AP style
  • Willingness to travel or work evenings, as needed, to support events
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite, Adobe Creative, CRM and event management platform systems
  • Familiarity with content strategy, SEO, analytics tools, and other marketing technology is not required but is a differentiator
  • A digital-native understanding of digital customer journeys, and the way that brand relevance is built over time by optimizing for metrics (e.g., SEO) and through compelling content experiences
  • 7-10 years of experience in a strategic marketing and/or communications or related role at fast-growing technology companies
  • The ability to bring ideas to life with in a compelling story arc
  • Experience creating and executing successful digital events (e.g. hybrid events, virtual events.)
  • Ability to work confidently with senior executives and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Expertise in managing event vendors, partners, service providers and venues
  • A A proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with executives, thought leaders, and subject matter experts across multiple teams within a company
  • Demonstrated proactive ability to generate creative ideas, shape stories, be a trusted resource for internal stakeholders and media, and drive execution for full-scale communications programs
  • Creative vision, strong communications skills and a passion for using differentiated experiential engagement to drive brand and awareness
  • A clear vision and distinctive POV for what next-generation content marketing can look like for PlayStation and the gaming industry company (including planning, prioritizing, developing content, managing teams, the creative & production process etc)
Preferred Qualifications
  • A phenomenal writer/communicator with a pristine record of meeting deadlines, delivering excellence and understanding best practices and then influencing teams in that direction (and subsequently implementing them)
  • You have experience working in SaaS, technology, or gaming.
  • You're a skilled writer who can confidently write about technical concepts and distill complex topics into digestible information
  • An experienced and beloved consultant to team members, meet deadlines, drive results and deliver creative solutions in an evolving communications landscape
  • You have the ability to adapt quickly to change in a highly dynamic environment with tight deadlines and changing priorities; exhibits flexibility, resilience, and grace under pressure

The PlayStation Career Pathways program is a talent development initiative aimed at providing opportunities to diverse individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in the gaming industry. At SIE, working with our partners, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.
Please note that the individual base pay range may vary based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

This is a flexible role that can be remote, with varying pay ranges based on geographic location. For example, if you are based out of Seattle, the estimated base pay range for this role is listed below, this is an hourly rate.
$74 — $110 USD
