The Brand & Product Marketing team seeks a Sustainability & Social Impact Marketing Specialist who is excited to help us deliver on our vision and is energized by the opportunity to further brand purpose, craft powerful stories, and deploy digital storytelling strategies that engage and delight Berry Consumers.
Responsibilities
As part of Driscoll’s Brand & Product Marketing Department, the Sustainability & Social Impact Marketing Specialist will play a key role in Driscoll’s brand building activities that strengthen awareness & perception of Driscoll’s social & environmental efforts amongst diverse stakeholders including but not limited to consumers, advocacy groups, customers, and community members. In this role, the Sustainability & Social Impact Marketing Specialist will report to the Sustainability & Social Impact Marketing Manager. They will be responsible for coordinating various execution activities that help bring an integrated sustainability and social impact digital content strategy to life across a mix of digital platforms and touchpoints. The candidate must be passionate, curious, and driven to translate consumer demands into effective content creation. Success in this role will be measured by the positive impact on both brand value and consumer engagement as one collective team.
Key Responsibilities And Cross-functional Intersections
  • Project Management: Collaborate within the Brand & Product Marketing team and cross-functional teams to maximize the impact of Driscoll’s sustainability marketing efforts. Provide direction and feedback to creative agencies to ensure projects are aligned with Driscoll’s brand architecture, communication strategy, time, and budget.
  • Community Engagement: The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, can build strong relationships and communication channels with diverse stakeholders. They will serve as a liaison with local district admins and Social & Environmental subject matter experts. They will work cross-functionally to coordinate an editorial calendar which may include content mining, stakeholder mapping, grower spotlights, and awareness of community and philanthropic partners.
  • Asset Development: Work with the brand team to create effective and engaging creative assets that support purposeful storytelling.
  • Content Development: The candidate will be instrumental in coordinating the execution of fundamental internal and external sustainability communications including press releases, video / blog posts, executive presentations and social media posts; assist with thought leadership angles for pitches, contributed articles and more. They will assist with external content development of social impact campaigns that support reputation building including content creation, story narratives, video creation, program elements, and social media support. The candidate will also support the development and execution of a sustainability and social impact editorial content calendar for the Driscoll’s digital ecosystem (web, social, email) to inspire and engage consumers, creating an emotional connection that expands our Brand equity. Together, these responsibilities involve cross-functional collaboration with digital marketing, philanthropy, district admins, and local social & environmental impact colleagues to assess meaningful stories and activities to external stakeholders.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Occasional domestic and international travel required.
  • Leverage content marketing strategy and execution to amplify thought leadership narratives
  • Support on Crisis Communications and issues management related to SEI topics
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Represents Driscoll’s in an ethical and business-like professional manner in all interactions with growers, co-workers, suppliers, customers and the business community at large.
  • Ensure the security of Driscoll’s confidential and proprietary information and materials.
  • Assist managing activities in collaboration with cross-functional departments to accomplish projects.
  • Assist management of GL codes within the Brand Marketing budget
  • Assist with Vendor management and collaboration
  • Be expected to innovate, create and challenge to continue to build and enhance the team
  • Support Consumer Insights team to field sustainability research projects
  • Partnership with SEI/Districts/Sustainability Manager to develop internal messaging, presentations, key initiatives, industry trends, etc.
Candidate Profile
Preferred Qualifications & Leadership Competencies
  • Understanding of key topics and emerging issues within sustainable agriculture and corporate social responsibility
  • Advanced level of computer skills including use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required.
  • Collaborative with the ability to take specific direction that will align and balance multiple stakeholders and manage multiple projects across the enterprise for team success.
  • Knowledge in using social technology (Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok, Twitter)
  • Entrepreneur and enthusiastic. Being creative, innovative and thinking beyond current limits to disrupt the industry
  • 1-2 years marketing experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • California driver’s license and the ability to be covered under company-sponsored vehicle insurance program
  • Foundational knowledge of purposeful brand storytelling or social impact marketing
  • Hybrid role with in-office location in Watsonville, CA- required in office 3x/week
  • A valid passport and the ability to travel internationally without restrictions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree; within the area of Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Sustainable Agriculture
Compensation & Benefits
The following information is provided in good faith as a general description of the salary range and benefits for the position posted. The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate is dependent upon experience, skills, education, work location, internal pay equity, and other objective job-related factors.
Salary Range estimated for Sustainability & Social Impact Marketing Specialist:$52,100 - $73,000 USD.
