Education & Curriculum Lead – Social Impact & PlayStation Career Pathways
San Mateo, CA or Remote
Role Summary
We're looking for an Education & Curriculum Lead to design and execute an integrated educational experience to attract and train talent from underrepresented communities. You'll join PlayStation's Social Impact team and report to the Head of Social Impact. Along with a growing team of partner trainers, creative professionals, and learning experience designers, you'll work to research, scope, design, and iterate content and digital engagement and experiences that build and sustain a pipeline of talent for the PlayStation Career Pathways program.
This role will focus on designing training and experiences that inspire and enable underrepresented talent for roles within the gaming industry and ecosystem. You’ll play a critical role in designing and executing a learner-centric strategy that unites the necessary skills and experiences required for careers at SIE, our first-party PlayStation Studios, and the indie development community.
Duties And Responsibilities
Curriculum and Content Strategy & Development
  • Responsible for content related metrics, including maintaining a pipeline of new courses and curricula
  • Implements feedback loops to ensure content effectiveness and inform roadmap prioritization
  • Develops blended educational content in a variety of digital media formats for virtual and live instruction
  • Collaborates with SMEs to test and ensure accuracy of content
  • Analyze learning needs and objectives for educational programs
  • Design program curriculum for the PlayStation Career Pathways program
  • Test educational materials for usability prior to release
  • Leveraging best practices in youth and adult instructional theory and post-training evaluation and measurement
  • Collaborate with SMEs to ensure accuracy of content
  • Develop blended educational content in a variety of digital media formats for virtual and live instruction
  • Design instructional materials centered around all types of careers within gaming with an emphasis on interactivity, engagement, and learner retention
  • Monitor user feedback/comments on content
  • Reports on content analytics and roadmap
  • Provides expertise in Learning, youth and adult learning strategies and post-training evaluation and measurement
Program and Project Management
  • Execute and oversee content operations, including but not limited to instructor/SME partnerships and course and career pathway campaigns
  • Manages content operations including taxonomy, maintenance planning, and content workflows
  • Supports the development of online learning communities
  • Collaborates with the appropriate teams on the development of digital programs that drive engagement throughout the learner pathway
  • Work closely with our LMS and enablement partners, on all aspects of content, from strategy to execution, and acting as a point person to facilitate communication between SIE and the partner on content
Requirements
  • You have experience producing educational creative assets from start-to-finish
  • You're a proactive, problem-solving thinker who has a learner-centric focus
  • You’re passionate about bringing high-quality, hands-on learning experiences to life for instructors and students at scale.
  • Excited by the unique challenge of aligning the needs of multiple stakeholders to source the best assets and content possible for the educational and career curriculum and partners.
  • You're a skilled curriculum and content expert with 7-10+ years experience in designing and delivering education and training experiences
  • You're excited by the prospect of being a key player on new projects, and you relish the challenge of rolling up your sleeves and solving complex problems with cross-functional teams
  • Able to manage external vendors to deliver on projects as prioritized by the business.
Preferred Qualifications
  • You have experience working in SaaS, technology, or gaming.
  • You're happiest when using an Agile content development process and are comfortable updating material regularly based on data, training-related feedback, and product updates
  • You're a skilled writer who can confidently write about technical concepts and distill complex topics into digestible information
  • You have experience working cross-functionally with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to create outcome-based learning experiences
  • You have knowledge of best practices in instructional design, online learning, adult learning, blended learning, accessible and inclusive education, and train-the-trainer models

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.
Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
In addition, this role is eligible for SIE’s top-tier benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, matching 401(k), paid time off, wellness program and coveted employee discounts for Sony products. This role also may be eligible for a bonus package. Click here to learn more.
The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.
$155,100 — $232,700 USD
