Job Description

What you will be doing:

  • Work with different levels of team members to optimize product development timing as well as grow each individual’s skill set. Be a superior mentor and coach to coworkers.
  • Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
  • Develop or approve budgets and operations
  • Support an interactive and dynamic environment where new ideas and strong technical feedback is welcomed and appreciated.
  • Ensure program operations and activities adhere to legal guidelines and internal policies
  • Read reports prepared by managers to determine progress and issues
  • Be excellent in both written and oral communication.
  • Works with other departments to develop new business proposals.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and are planned and executed in accordance with our AS9100 and ISO13485 processes.
  • Manage individual time to meet budgets and schedules.
  • Work with program customers and business development to develop new business and expand product lines.
  • Works with contracts to review and approve financial conditions, resources, and contractual requirements.
  • Discover ways to enhance efficiency and productivity of procedures and people
  • Keep senior management informed with detailed and accurate reports or presentations
  • Able to calculate demands or multiple projects and make strategic choices about using resources and optimize each phase or operations.
  • Supervise all program and project managers involved to provide feedback and resolve complex problems
  • Precisely explain your ideas to fellow experts and non-technical audiences. Everyone must be able to understand your recommendations or needs for additional resources.
  • Work independently and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to meet technical and program objectives.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor scheduling, resources, and technical performance of Iris Direct and IRAD programs and projects.
  • Acts as advisor to program team regarding projects, tasks, and operations.
  • Ensure adherence to master plans and schedules develops solutions to program problems, and direct work of individuals assigned to programs from various departments.


What you need to qualify:

  • Working knowledge of MS Office and program management software (e.g. Basecamp, MS Project, etc.)
  • US Citizen
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline
  • Engineering background; Electrical or System Engineering preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics
  • Expert skills with Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Proven experience as a Program Manager or other managerial position
  • Experience developing and managing complex projects and programs utilizing MS Project and other program monitoring tools
  • Demonstrated skill at successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously.
