Manager Of Procurement And Purchasing

In this role, the employee can sit in Houston, TX, Cary, NC or Atlanta, GA.

In this role you will be responsible for leading the Procurement and Purchasing Team for the Shelter Solutions Business of Cornerstone Building Brands.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drive actions to resolve supply issues that impact our customers urgently including reporting, supplier recovery planning and monitoring, and finding and executing alternative supply opportunities
• Supervise a purchasing and procurement team and delegating tasks across departments when necessary
• Lead team to efficiently plan for incoming demands at the item level and process purchase requests
• Working closely with the Sourcing COE to make sure contracts and terms are favorable
• Developing risk management procedures to mitigate losses in the event of product shortages
• Identify effective methods to consolidate freight without creating excess inventories
• Evaluate planning and purchasing operations while seeking ways to improve and enhance the quality of products purchased and the timeliness of deliveries.
• Communicate with management regularly regarding the efficient flow of goods and services affecting production
• Performing inventory management in partnership with other stakeholders and control inputs to align with the inventory plan
• Work with AP and aid in resolution of supplier payment issues, invoice matching, and related systems and processes
• Maintain relationships with suppliers while partnering with the Sourcing COE to stay aligned on strategic initiatives and cost management
• Work closely with Manufacturing, Sales & Operations Planning, and Scheduling to align supply plans with production plans to ensure an efficient balance between inventory, cost, and customer fulfillment

• A strategic mindset with a sense of urgency and a proactive approach
• Effective Conflict Resolution and Prioritization experience
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (to include Pivot Tables) / Word / Outlook/ PowerPoint
• Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and team player
• Skilled planner with strong time management and prioritization skills
• Strong verbal & written communication skills
• A minimum 5-7 years of Procurement and or Purchasing experience
• Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Purchasing Management or a related degree of study
• Strong Market and Industry knowledge
• Strong analytical skills
• Must be able to lead meetings & write technically oriented reports and presentations.
• Experience with ERP systems (Oracle) a plus
