Role Summary

This high visibility role is responsible for supporting the Commercial Finance team's financial forecast and actual management for the Charging & Energy Solutions channel. This role is critical to the success of strategically growing the Rivian Charging & Energy Solutions channel, so we're looking for an individual who is extremely analytical, is a strong relationship builder, can build processes and support system builds, manage a small team and is motivated to drive results.

The main commercial systems and processes to be built span across four areas:

  • Commercial FP&A: Partnering with Corporate FP&A, Product Development Finance, Sales Operations/S&OP, Strategy, and Manufacturing to model Charging & Energy Solutions' Operating Expenses for budgeting and forecasting
  • Commercial Financial Operations: Partnering with Accounts Receivables/Treasury, Accounting, Charging & Energy Solutions, and Logistics to ensure the order-to-cash process is smooth, efficient, tax-compliant, and that necessary and helpful transactional data is available for financial analysis
  • Strategy: Investigate, research, model and present findings recommending the best course of action regarding new business opportunities, market entry/exit decisions, etc.
  • Product Insights: partnering with Charging & Energy Solutions to build KPI's to enable deep understanding of product performance

Responsibilities

  • Provide ad hoc analytical support to influence decision making with financial perspective
  • Recruit, manage and develop team
  • Set up processes and influence system in order to define/refine KPIs that explain business and supply performance and drive associated actions
  • Evaluate current processes and tools to drive efficiencies and value-added enhancements
  • Partner with Growth team leadership to improve the Charging P/L and inventory performance, specifically leaders of the Charging Networks and Renewables teams
  • Transform data into actionable insights and recommendations. Present clear and concise results, including processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with business partners and cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization
  • Manage monthly forecast and annual budget for Growth Finance team. Responsibilities include creating timelines for deliverables; communicating processes and timelines to business partners and ensuring timelines are met; forecast all P&L line items, communicating results and issues to management; and preparing financial statements and presentations for Rivian management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (MBA/CPA a plus) in Finance, Accounting or related field preferred
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast paced environment
  • Strong communicator, with ability to partner at the most senior levels of the finance organization and experience presenting and build relationships with internal stakeholders
  • General knowledge of accounting/financial/operational principles and theory
  • Proven experience budgeting, planning, forecasting, closing and reconciling operating expenditures
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, advanced business acumen mindset
  • Minimum 7 years of related business experience in Finance, Accounting, or related field, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility with emphasis on system and report building and forecasting
  • Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills required, experience with Adaptive Insights and SAP a plus
  • Strong organizational skills reflecting prioritization with a sense of urgency
  • Proven ability to develop effective business partner relationships

Salary Range

  • Salary range for Palo Alto, CA based applicants: $147,000 - $169,000 annually (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location and other factors permitted by law)
