Job Description

Our customer, an American E-Commerce Company, seeks a Legal Billing Specialist for a 6-month remote contract assignment.


The Opportunity

We are currently looking for a Legal Billing Specialist with at least 3 years of experience for a 6-month assignment. Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with various internal stakeholders, review invoices as they are submitted, resolve billing discrepancies, prepare spend reports, interface with outside counsel, and assist with the integration of legal data throughout the firm.
  • Consolidate such data into actionable and reportable metrics.
  • Report directly to the Global Head of Legal Operations and must partner successfully to help create and manage outside counsel engagements and oversee the related invoicing.
  • Gather and synthesize large volumes of data from diverse sources across Legal and key stakeholders.
  • Manage outside counsel management responsibilities. This includes facilitating the search for and management of legal department vendors.


This could be a fantastic opportunity if you have:

  • Proficiency with Google Suite and Slack.
  • Extensive experience with industry-standard legal billing and/or matter management software (e.g., SimpleLegal, Legal Tracker, TyMetrics, Brightflag, etc.).
  • Specialist will be a self-starter, proactive, and tech-savvy, who enjoys working in an ever-evolving, fast-paced environment.
  • 3 years of Legal billing experience at an in-house legal department.
