We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Analyst to join our organization and lead the establishment of our data infrastructure and modeling capabilities. In this role, you will collaborate with various stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs), design data warehouse and modeling solutions, and create comprehensive reports. Your expertise in tools like Redshift, Tableau, and others will be essential to drive data-driven decision-making across the organization.
The ideal person will be self-motivated with excellent project management skills and a mastery of data modeling. Experience in the FinTech industry and familiarity with startups is highly desirable, as our organization operates in a fast-paced environment. You should be comfortable collaborating with stakeholders at all levels and possess strong problem-solving abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Support recurring reporting requirements around HMDA, MCR, and Credit Bureau Reporting.
- Present complex data in a clear and concise manner to diverse stakeholders, serving as a key point of contact for data-related inquiries.
- Implement and monitor measures to safeguard sensitive data and PII in compliance with privacy laws and industry regulations.
- Independently manage multiple projects, set priorities, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality results.
- Develop and refine data models for databases, both from proprietary systems and external systems, to support all business units.
- Serve as the primary data liaison with all areas of the business, including partner performance KPIs, lead management and team KPIs, loan origination KPIs, product engineering KPIs, external partner reporting, and investor loan reporting; translating data needs into technical requirements.
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of a robust data warehouse in collaboration with Engineering and DevOps teams.
- Establish and implement data standards, monitor data integrity, ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards, and manage data security and access controls.
- Build high level reports tailored to investor needs and ensure data integrity on loan tapes to 3rd parties down to the loan level.
- Interpret complex data and analyze results using advanced statistical techniques to provide ongoing reports, insights, and strategic recommendations.
- Set up and maintain data dashboards, making data available and accessible for non-technical stakeholders.
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets to inform strategic decision-making.
Requirements:
- Expertise with business intelligence and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for dashboard setup and management.
- Familiarity with data privacy standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and experience implementing data security measures.
- Proven working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst, with extensive experience in senior roles.
- Expert knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, etc.).
- Strong self-management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Deep understanding of data warehousing and data lake concepts, with substantial experience working with modern data tools.
- Proficiency in SQL for complex querying, and experience with other data manipulation languages (like Python or R).
- Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively presenting data insights to diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in the fintech industry or with financial data is strongly preferred.
- Outstanding analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
