The Opportunity
We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to take on a leadership role covering prices in the global ferroalloy market. Key elements of the role include managing all aspects of the data collection and publication of CRU’s ferroalloy prices, the expansion of price assessment contacts, developing new prices, as well as writing and editing market updates and analysis.
The job demands the ability to manage deadlines and contributions from a global team, maintain and grow a strong network of contacts, accurately assess prices to defined specifications, and contribute to the understanding of current and evolving market requirements for price benchmarks. The jobholder must be able to work effectively and collaboratively to lead an international team of price and market analysis specialists, publishing to tight deadlines and working within an established compliance framework.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Managing global ferroalloy prices, leading a small team of price analysts in price discovery and assessments; maintaining and growing a network of contacts, sharing market intelligence; writing and editing market updates; collecting information on market requirements for price benchmarks, and dealing with price related inquiries.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
Knowledge & Experience
- Market requirements for pricing benchmarks;
- Creation and editing of written market analysis;
- Commodity pricing mechanisms, ideally in the ferroalloys and/or related markets;
- Structure and operation of commodity supply chains, industry and competitive landscape;
- Price discovery and assessment;
- Dealing with subscriber inquiries.
- Experience leading a small team;
- Customer value drivers and motivations;
- Network building and maintenance;
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to work to strict deadlines and within the necessary compliance framework;
- Resilience, persistence and the determination to succeed;
- Unrelenting attention to detail and the ability to deploy this in error-free outputs;
- To build, maintain and grow an effective market intelligence network;
- First class communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Critical analysis of data trends and key drivers;
- Market intelligence gathering;
- Price discovery;
- The ability to lead effectively in a multi-site international team and communicate with team members;
- The ability to lead a small team
- To be a team and company leader and work with colleagues towards common goals.
- Self-motivation and the ability to learn and expand knowledge in key markets related to pricing;
The jobholder will be responsible for leading CRU’s global ferroalloy prices and related assessments. They must be able to demonstrate leadership qualities in the collection and assessment of price data. They will be able to form definitive market views by well-informed, high-frequency and extensive contact with a wide range of relevant price contacts and other market participants. The jobholder would ideally have a deep understanding of ferroalloys and related supply chains and must be an excellent networker and communicator.
