Junior Accountant Jobs

Overview:
The Junior Accountant is responsible for end to end processing of invoices, preparing daily cash balances and acts as a point person for internal and external payable questions. This individual will ensure that the cash accounts are reconciled, and all journal entries are accurately recorded. They will also assist with audits as needed. This is a hybrid position located in Boston, MA.
Responsibilities:
Cash Management

• Process and record deposits.
• Directly prepare, or work with accounting staff, to book and reconcile operating accounts for multiple entities.
• Prepare daily cash balance report for management review ensuring proper funding levels to meet demand.

Accounts Payable

• W9 and 1099 management and processing.
• Handle the flow of invoices through paperless system ensuring they are processed accurately and efficiently.
• Act as point of contact for internal and external questions.
• Work with Assistant Controller to generate and send payments on a daily and weekly basis.
• Assist senior accountants to prepare payments to external vendors.
• Perform AP system administration maintenance.

Monthly Close

• Primarily responsible for journal entries related to cash reconciliation, various revenue related entries along with AP related entries.

Other

• Assist with various other audits gathering required documentation.
• Intercompany invoicing.
• Assist with the preparation of MA sales and use tax filing.
• Rent invoicing and tracking of payments.
• Assist with annual audit.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
• ERP system experience preferred.
• Up to 2 years accounting experience.
• Works well in a team environment and possess a positive and flexible outlook.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with strong Excel skills.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
• Good problem solving skills.
