A Junior Accountant provides overall general accounting, and monthly reporting support to the Controller, Assistant Controller, Senior Accountant.

This position of a JR Accountant is a Hybrid Role

Essential Duties:

• Support/backup accounts receivable function, document bills and supporting documentation
• Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
• Assist Finance in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings, audits.
• Assist with other accounting projects as assigned
• Support the accounts payable function. Ensure timely payment of invoices, confirming validity of the debt and gathering appropriate signatures.
• Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
• Assist with reviewing of expenses as assigned
• Account reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts
• Work with purchasing and other departments as needed to resolve issues.
• Serve as back-up for critical tasks across all areas of the finance department.

Knowledge and Skills required:

• Attention to detail
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software
• Must possess good analytical and communication skills.
• Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
• Project management skills a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree (BS) from four-year college or university; or two plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Willingness to get involved in a wide variety of tasks to support business needs.
