The Junior Project Financial Analyst (PFA) is an expert in CDW Integrated Technology Solutions Security organization’s engagement information management systems. This role will assist the Security Practice Leaders and Engagement Teams with tasks related to delivering projects and provide a reliable resource for financial data and analysis. The Jr. PFA’s responsibilities will include analysis of actual cost, preparation of monthly revenue recognition, project analysis, billings, accounts receivable, etc. The Jr PFA must be able to anticipate the needs of the business leaders to prioritize their workload.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Proactively monitors collections and works closely with the corporate collection specialist to ensure proper collection activities occur
- Identifies trends impacting revenue recognition and profitability (forecast amounts, Actual vs. Budgeted Units impact, Earned vs. Actual revenues, net pass through review, labor / forecast mismatches, etc.)
- Reviews and monitors engagement economic measures
- Support the Security Delivery Teams throughout the client acceptance, project set-up, engagement monitoring, and system changes to ensure records contain accurate and up to date information
- Ensures timely and accurate performance of work within project scope and objectives
- Act as a liaison with accounting team, providing quality control and resolving any issues
- Serve as a subject matter resource in company related accounting and risk management systems
- Provides client billing, analysis, and resolution of issues
- Performs special projects and ad hoc requests
- Capitalizes on opportunities to improve project efficiency, results of team efficiency
- Proactively monitors client invoicing and proactively encourages billing for "out-of-scope" work.
- Provides leadership by example, mentorship to other team members and consultative advice internally and externally
- Provide ongoing support to business in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting accounting and risk management issues
Education and/or Experience Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business related major from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience
- Proficient in accounting concepts and experience with accounting information systems (Netsuite experience preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
- Has the ability and confidence to get into the detail of the systems to a transactional level to find the cause of an issue, to understand that detail and the cause - and to solve it.
- Ability to work independently to meet deadlines
- Proficiency with the MS Office Applications, in particular MS Excel
- Timely and accurate project reporting to include job cost tracking
- Prior project accounting or analysis; preferably within a professional services environment
- Consistently demonstrate a high level of accuracy in their work
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, to communicate effectively and professionally with the consulting directors, accounting team and other key employees
- Ability to organize, meet strict deadlines and work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to process high volumes of work with proficiency and accuracy
- Highly organized and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
