Job Description
Who we are:


Logistic Specialties, Inc. (LSI) is the Aviation Logistics Support Contractor for the CAL FIRE Aviation Management Unit (AMU). We support CAL FIRE AMU by managing and operating their aircraft maintenance facility's Procurement Department, Parts Rooms, Warehouse, Repair Logistics Oversight, and Industrial Safety/HazMat program. This position is based at LSI’s offices at 5500 Price Avenue, McClellan, CA.


Who we are looking for:


LSI is currently looking for a Technical Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will provide the LSI AMU Program employees technical support with anything from setting up their workstations at McClellan Business Park in Sacramento, California, to general information technology support optimizing overall operational efficiency. Duties include resolving technical issues, and software support. This position will assist, supplement, and provide surge support for those on the AMU CALFIRE contract. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Maintain system capability by testing computer components.
  • Test compatibility of new programs with existing ones.
  • Evaluate vendor-supplied software by studying user objectives and testing software compatibility with existing hardware and programs.
  • Workstation setup and configuration.
  • Training in basic program needs as related to Quantum, PowerPoint, Excel, and many others.
  • Maintain system functionality by testing computer components.
  • Resolve tickets representing staff-generated requests or problems and troubleshoot workstation related issues to maintain productivity.
  • Consult with users to determine appropriate hardware and software needs.
  • Train users on new software in person or through a variety of tutorial channels, including self-guided training videos, user manuals, and digital instruction pages, often in collaboration with technical writers.
  • Assist in network support.
  • Prepare reference material for users by drafting operation instructions.
  • Document hardware and software updates.
  • Overseas all training rooms (assures all TV, Speakers, podiums are in constant working order. Would also help with set up.
  • Knowledge in creating reports from various databases such as Power BI, Crystal, SQL, and Access.
  • Provide onsite support during training.


What you will bring to LSI:


  • Hold a valid California driver’s license.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to produce process or system flow diagrams.
  • Must be able to lift twenty-five (25) lbs.
  • Complete and pass a drug screen.
  • Ability to Report common patterns, questions, and other issues to management and recommend solutions for improving and restructuring company procedures.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Highly analytical mindset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.
  • Associate degree, Trade Training or 2 years work experience in information systems, computer science, or relevant field.
  • Experience with software, hardware, telephony, and networks.
