JOB SUMMARY: This individual is responsible for managing the information systems programs as well as providing technical support and managing telephony systems within the practice. The IT specialist is also directly involved in the development and maintenance of the practice’s network environment, overseeing the network and security, implementation, software, and hardware systems. Additionally, this individual is also responsible for the development and implementation of changes and enhancements to the Electronic Practice Management software programs and other IT related initiatives for the practice.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent education and/or experience.
2. Minimum five years training and experience in computer hardware and software-related areas with an emphasis on workstations, networking, problem analysis and diagnostic techniques, and telephony.
3. Experience with Modernizing Medicine EHR system preferred.

1. Proficiency in working with operating systems and network configurations.
2. Knowledgeable regarding telephony and telecommunications equipment.
3. Ability to quickly learn new software programs.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with management team and physicians.
5. Strong organization skills with attention to detail and budget management.
6. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
7. Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards, such as HIPAA, HITECH, and Meaningful Use.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to problem-solving.
9. Highly professional image.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop and implement IT policies and procedures that comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
2. Implementation of IT systems and infrastructure, including network security, data backup, and disaster recovery plans.
3. Ensure the smooth functioning of all IT systems and provide technical support to end-users.
4. Manage and monitor the performance of our IT vendors and contractors.
5. Plan and manage IT budgets, including hardware and software purchases, upgrades, maintenance, and security.
6. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in the healthcare industry to ensure the organization’s IT systems remain competitive and secure.
7. Collaborate with internal management team to identify opportunities for process improvements through the use of technology.
8. Manage and maintain the security and reliability of our data network, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
9. Provide strategic guidance to senior management on IT-related issues, including risk management and cost-benefit analysis of IT investments.
10. Performs PC, printer, telephone, and desktop software support.
11. Monitor and analyze telephony performance metrics, and recommend improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our systems.
12. Installs and configures new equipment.
13. Troubleshoots problems related to desktop operating systems, desktop applications, PC Hardware, telephones, PDAs, and other network attached peripherals.
14. Maintains an inventory of PC equipment, peripherals, and all network devices.
ADMINISTRATION/MANAGEMENT:
1. Trains new employees on desktop operating systems, practice network environment, and other related information systems functions.
2. Works with management team on technology-related upgrades and IT initiatives for the practice.
3. Performs other related duties to ensure effective communication and smooth functioning of all information systems activities within the practice.
