Salary range for this position is: $72,060/yr. - $96,960/yr. (depending on experience)

We are seeking an experienced IT System Administration professional with strong technical skills, understanding of industry best practices, and an extraordinary passion for helping our students, faculty and staff succeed. This position is the IT System Administration- Entry level position, in the Enterprise Application Integrations unit within IT. This position provides backend support of our integral student, human resources, administrative, and financial enterprise software systems. The IT System Administration – Entry level position is a full-time, WFSE represented, classified position. This position is a hybrid remote and on-site position based at the Seattle Colleges District Office.

What you will be working on:

  • As a Local Security Administrator for the district ctcLink/PeopleSoft ERP system, manage all employee and student user account access troubleshooting access issues when necessary.
  • Ensuring that information system security policies are correctly implemented and practiced a part of granting role access assignments to user across three college campuses and six satellite locations.
  • Creation and maintenance of user access role assignments for various mission critical applications and software platforms by adhering to institutional Identity and Access Management Protocols.
  • Configure, customize, and extend Team SharePoint sites and documents.
  • Create, maintain, and manage user access to institutional Microsoft 365 Outlook Public Folders.
  • Provide user application access support by troubleshooting system and login issues, unlocking accounts, and resetting passwords.
  • Generating and maintaining technical documentation of user instructions, policies and procedures for usage of internally developed and/or customized enterprise applications and workflows.
  • Assist in developing System Testing, Quality Assurance, and Outcome documentation of customized enterprise applications and workflows.

What you bring as a candidate: (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience)

  • A relevant two-year degree in information technology is preferred. As an alternative, candidates with previous experience in information technology may also qualify.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically experience creating & editing documents, spreadsheets and presentation. Previous success learning new computer software programs/platforms required.
  • Demonstrated Technical Writing skills for both end user and technical maintenance documentation.
  • Adapt quickly to support, operate and maintain new technology
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Current driver’s license and transportation
  • Ability to readily handle multiple tasks, regular interruptions, and changing work assignments
  • Enthusiastic and positive service orientation, with adaptability, humility and integrity
  • Maintain professional decorum when interacting with staff, faculty, and students
  • Helpdesk experience is helpful.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, think critically and exercise independent judgment required.
  • Demonstrated experience or participation with persons from diverse backgrounds such as racial, ethnic, religious, linguistic, gender, sexual orientation, age, socio-economic, physical and learning abilities, and a commitment to an inclusive and equitable working / learning environment.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently on the majority of assignments.
  • Ability to represent the college in a positive and professional manner, while using tact, discretion and courtesy.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail required as well as previous experience maintaining accurate records, managing multiple tasks and planning and organizing work in order to meet changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Hands-On experience with Windows OS and 0365.
  • Ability to explain technical terms and processes in layman’s terms to end users
  • Reliable attendance and a commitment to working in-person/on site.

Physical Requirements:

The Position

  • Typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to Perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office.
  • Encounters frequent interruptions throughout the workday.
  • Is regularly required to provide 1:1 support, present to small groups, and work at a computer exercising repetitive hand motion with or without reasonable accommodation.
