The Role
Aquarian Holdings is seeking an exceptional individual to support the investment operations and reporting of a fast-growing, multi-asset class portfolio. The candidate will be responsible for overall portfolio reporting and analysis, as well as day-to-day operations. The candidate will act as a liaison between Aquarian Holdings and external asset managers to ensure investments are on-boarded and monitored appropriately.
In addition, the candidate will also support setting the broader investment operations and reporting system design. While not required, the ideal candidate will possess prior experience in alternative asset classes (e.g., private equity, real estate, structured securities, corporate credit, fixed income), particularly loan operations.
The position is located in New York City.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a liaison between Aquarian Holdings, insurance portfolio companies, and third-party investment managers
- Work closely with senior management to help drive the transformation of our operational processes and technologies, working with third party resources including asset management systems providers and external consultants
- Support investment valuation and audit processes at Aquarian Holdings and portfolio companies
- Assist with the day-to-day onboarding, monitoring and reconciliation of new trades and existing investments
- Support quarterly and annual investment reporting processes (including statutory reporting and actuarial reporting)
Ideal profile and characteristics:
- Quick and agile thinker / learner able to function well in a high-paced, rapidly evolving environment
- Highly collaborative and motivated team player, able to work efficiently and effectively in both team and individual environments
- Experience with loan operations a plus
- Working knowledge of investment operations & reporting processes best-practices
- Prior experience at an investment manager, hedge fund, or bank preferred
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial attitude
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and communicate issues effectively
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral)
- 3-6 years of prior middle/back office operations, investment reporting, and/or accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree from a leading accredited college/university
