My Client, a Private Equity Fund of Funds is seeking a Senior Associate to join its New York City office. The successful candidate will work with other members of the investment team to assist in the sourcing, screening, evaluation, and monitoring of co-investments & private equity opportunities including buyouts, venture capital, and growth equity funds.
Strong modelling and analytical skills are a requirement for this position. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated the ability to coordinate due diligence processes, including conducting reference checks, writing investment memos, and presenting recommendations to a broader investment team. The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of the private equity landscape and an ability to network within the community.
Responsibilities:
- Participating in the broader due diligence on private equity investment opportunities including reference checks and portfolio company visits
- Conducting quantitative analysis and due diligence on prospective primary & co-investments
- Arranging and attending meetings with general partners, intermediaries, and placement agents
- Actively participating in investment team meetings and contributing to the investment decision‐making process
- Building and updating financial underwriting models for secondary investments and co‐investments
- Understanding market dynamics and preparing topical white papers, market reviews and presentations
- Participating in client service and business development activities
- Monitoring existing private equity partnership investments including reviewing financial statements, attending annual meetings and general partner updates
Requirements:
- Proven ability to work independently as well as in teams
- Strong academic performance and a degree from a top‐tier undergraduate institution
- Solid quantitative and analytical capabilities
- MBA and/or CFA preferred, but not required
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience in Investment Banking, M&A or Private Equity.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
